The new coach is already in town now, so whether he formally steps down or not, they have already taken the job from him and the management is not even discreet about it, so why is he saying after a lot of thought and deliberation? Like he has a choice?

Most of u don't read to comprehend before commenting. There is a difference between been a first team coach and being the manager of the club. He has been a first team coach since the mourinho. Now he has stepped down probably to try his trade in a new club. Hope you understand now?

Everything that has beginning has an end. Well-done Carrick we're proud of you both as a player and as a manager.

The only football manager who never lost a match.

Did you even understand what you read? Carrick could pick up any other position at the club but he chose to leave. Anyway he's still a legend.

He is leaving Man United entirely rather than continue as assistant coach under the new manager.
Most often, new coaches come with their coaching crew and if that happens, Carrick won't continue as an assistant manager. So it's better for him to leave now than being asked to leave later. You get the drift

Read to understand you won't.

Who told you, First Team coach is same as the head coach. He simply left his role as first team coach which also means assistant manager. Now stop the hate and move
