Russia is in a tight corner. A coup that was led by the US led to the change of govt in Ukraine. Puttin's friend was over thrown & a friend to the West was installed. That was the beginning of the problem. If Russia doesn't attack Ukraine now. It will be difficult to take over Ukraine in the next five years. because the west have started arming Ukraine. They have started selling arms to Ukraine. A well armed Ukraine is a problem for Russia. If Ukraine develop the capacity to deter Russian aggression, it will join NATO & the US will find it way to Russian door step. It is better to attack now & suffer economic sanctions.

Of course dialogue is an option. Putin has said he wants guarantee from the USA that they would stop expanding to their borders.

The USA aren't even prepared to listen, with Biden even claiming in this post that he won't care about the red lines of anyone.

Both putin and Biden would be having a meeting next week. If russia don't get the assurance from USA, then we can expect more escalations from now Till the end of January next year.

Look lemme tell you, even if russia doesn't want war, it doesn't mean that they won't go to war when their interests are being overlooked by others. They would rather make do with any consequences than sit and watch USA expand to their doorstep.
