Good evening to all the ogas in the house.
Earlier state
Before I proceed, permit me to let u know that I've been using this system for days, with W10, 21H1 version installed. I've been using the system mainly for coding (web development). I am also a Redmi mobile phone user, which enables me to control my hotspot sharing.
Before now, 200mb can last me for about 3hrs or more for just surfing Nairaland and/or W3School.
Present state
So, as at today, I connected my hotspot and in less than 60secs I got notification that 100mb has been exhausted (since that's the notification limit I set on my hotspot consumption). Before I blink my eyes again, I've gotten like 5 notifications more, which to say over 500mb zapped. To cut the long story short, over 1.9gb worth of data was deducted within 5mins
Steps taken
When I found out something must be wrong somewhere, I had to start searching my system for the hidden apps zapping my data
Before this moment,I've metered connection turned on, windows updates disabled, even with a 3rd party app, all background apps turned off when over 500mb was zapped.
I checked for running instances from the task manager, only found like 50mb used, checked data usage, no new additional usage.
The most annoying part was that I've not even open a page, in fact, I just turned on the systems and connected to the hotspot

Right now, I'm fed up, I can't use my system, please help me guys.

I just disabled the windows update using this method, thou already have it disabled and metered connection enabled

sub like 3gb and let all the updates install, then download wpd https://wpd.app/ and turn off every thing, Then you can install netbalancer, It comes with a network speed meter, so whenever your network usage is high, you can view what's using it and block em.
