How much?
Re: Gynecomastia help needed.. Photos attached by Didykriss: 7:44am On Sep 19, 2021
It's depending on the hospital, the surgeon want to use he showed me one of 150k it's okay
But less standard. And my family said they want a more standard.. hospital.
Which cost 250k... in Lagos I believe other state might be cheaper
Your choice

Gonna make this short....

Started feeling pain exactly a year ago during NYSC at Kano on my right breast, did some online inquiry and suspected Gynecomastia, as i wasn't so sure, i went to the community hospital and the Doctor said it's what i suspected, and said it was as a result of Hormonal imbalance, he gave me drug prescription, which i took to the Pharmacy and sadly they had just one of the three, as i wasn't sure of taking an incomplete dosage, i didn't buy the drug... Sadly while packing my stuffs at the end of the service year i left the drug prescribed for me at Kano, now it seems the Gynecomastia won't go, although there as been no real increase in the size, but i still can't wear tight hug shirts like i used to...... need an advice on what to do, and by the way am 23.....
although a medical friend said it will go away with time, he's still a medical student though..

After the surgery.... The surgery experience I can't explain but thank God it was a success

Congrats

Have some questions to ask though

Where did you get it done? The name of the hospital name

How long was the waiting period to get it done? Right from the day you went to the hospital to when you got it done.

How was the post care? Did you have to use a compression vest? Did they use drains? Stuff like that.

Thanks

Beware of quack "healers" selling magic positions like this person. If you are lucky they will take your money and give you excuses when their concoctions fail to work. If your luck does not hold out, those juju concoctions could harm you in temporary or permanent ways.

Just keep in mind that the Juju witch doctor has an explanation for everything, regardless of how utterly ridiculous the claims made as an excuse for their ineptitude.

Ok Guys, this is a long read so bear with me.

I had searched for so long for anything or topic related to Gynecomastia in Nigeria to no avail before the poster of this thread finally did and after that I followed it up keenly. I would like to salute the courage of the poster and to say he has inspired me to share my story and process with others that might be suffering this same condition.

You have no idea how psychologically paralyzing this condition is, others might not see it as a big deal but trust me it is. It is a huge deal. What other guys take for granted you are unable to do. Simple things like wear your favorite Tshirt, taking off your shirt in public, play soccer with your guys, going swimming becomes scenes of immense torture to your mind. You are intensely self aware when you wear shirts that your nipples are protruding and therefore everyone is staring at you. The biggest damage this condition does to a guy is psychological and the effects cannot be understated. To every guy suffering from Gynecomastia I know your fears and share your pain.

I have had with this condition for about 20years plus now. I first discovered it in secondary school and now I’m a 34year old man with my own family. I tried everything from when I started having puffy nipples to try to hide it, I used the elastic band from my boxer shorts to wrap around my chest. Lol. After that I researched some pills (bad idea) Pills do not work by the way. Please do not even try to use them, total waste of time. I naively thought at a point that It was just some kind of fluid that was under there that if I buy an injection syringe and suck it out I’d be fine. Lol.
I eventually convinced my parents back then that it was indeed a problem for me and we went to see the doctor but he told me not to worry that it would resolve on it’s own. It never did.

For years I was sad, depressed and distraught and eventually I gave up. I became a master at hiding my condition throughout university no one ever saw my chest, I would go to the bathroom with boxer shorts and hang my towel around my neck just so no one would see my gyno. One thing I stumbled on though that gave me temporary reprieve for many years is the black electrical tape. After trying cello tape and plaster I eventually landed on black electrical wiring tapes. It Works guys. This was what helped me through all these years and I was able to mask my puffy nipples and wear shirts that were fitted and gave me some semblance of normalcy to my life however fake it was.

I always knew that one day I would have surgery as that was the only way to fix this. During my NYSC in Abuja I finally found a plastic surgeon that could do it. She did it under local anesthesia and she did take out some gland but unfortunately for me, she didn’t do nearly enough. She just cut me open for nothing because after weeks of waiting to see any difference there was none. I was intensely depressed not to talk of how pissed I was cause I had spent 180k and this was a lot of money back in 2011.

I have lived with it since then with me and my black tape. I had a black tape everywhere, in my car, in my work bag, at home just so I’m not caught slacking. Lol

I came across a plastic surgeon in Lagos recently and I decided to have another go at getting rid of this Gynecomastia once and for all. From the consultation he put my mind at ease and told me he would use a combination of liposuction and gland excision. Anyways long story short I had my surgery done finally on Wednesday and I’m healing nicely. I’m still in my compression garment so I haven’t seen the result yet but I’ve seen a video from the operating table when they were taking the gland out and for the first time since I can remember in all my life my I saw my Nipples FLAT. My Gyno is finally gone guys. FINALLY!!!! After over 20 years. I still don’t fully believe it. It feels unreal. All these years of suffering just Gone in under 2 hours.

I’ll share my pictures and my recovery photos with you guys as I progress along. I hope I’m able to inspire someone with this condition to not give up and stay positive. I know it’s tough but it’ll be ok in the end.

Pls where did you get your surgery done in Lagos ??

No o. E not too cost for Nigeria. Heard like 500k for some general hospital and 800k for private hospital. My cousin who wants to do the surgery did some indepth research. If you can save your money, you can get it done and avoid the complex that comes with having Man Boobs.

You don't need to fret much brotherly. The procedure is mainly cosmetic. Removal of male breast tissue and breast fat and should not involve much of complications. But with your case, it is advisable this is done in a specialist and you are booked for at least 3 days after the removal for observation. Gynecomastia is a relatively safe operation. Just save and get family financial support towards it and for your condition use a very good hospital or teaching hospital if possible. You no come this life escort people, you come this life make a difference. Everything will be alright.

I will like to encourage those who were frightened with the huge sum of money mentioned, Like the 1m or the 500k. It all depends on where u would like to have urs done. Some private hospital could bill 2m and that may rendered u frustrated as if ur problem could never be solved anytime soon.
Gynecomastia is a relatively simple surgery that will relief u a lifetime burden and sense of inferiority. Go to any teaching hospital or FMC near u..I assure u it won't cost more than 300 to 350k. I visited a cosmetic surg.. Consultant at FMC lokoja early this year and he told me 250 to 300k is enough for both pre tests and post surg..treatments. But my problem was my parents,, they were strongly against it and refused to fund it because of fear..it wasn't easy anyways but I had no option than to keep on managing my self till when I will be financially OK to fund the surgery..oh God! Anytime I think of NYSC camp,,how am I going to wear the white vest and nicker..to crown it all. I have very huge butts. Oh lord help me.
