No student from these schools has ever *made first class in their first degree courses.*
No student from these schools have *put Nigeria in academic map through excellence in external university qualifying examinations.*
So dear parents, don't kill yourself and your children because of exorbitant school fees.
Attendance in these fancy schools is no guarantee that your child will be an academic star.
Professors Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Philip Emeagwali, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Dr. Dora Akuyili, didn't attend 7-star hotels parading as schools!
Parents, please know and maintain your finances for godly pursuits by limiting your quest for costly, fanciful schools.
Success in life is not about the school your children attend.
The above schools are not on the academic cutting edge - as at today!

Which kind thread be this, dowen is like any school out there today, but we heard about the unfortunate incidence because of the status of the deceased family and his the only child. The educational background is very important especially primary and secondary school, I am a product of solid and quality education. Though I attended a public university at the end, but is worth it. Dont joke with your kids basics.

no one is saying the educational background of the child is not important. the message being passed is that, paying exorbitant amount of money on these private schools doesn't guarantee your child success in life. its all about limiting your quest for costly, fanciful schools as a means of show off to the society that doesn't give a f*** about you.
Success in life is not about the school your children attend.
note, the above schools are not on the academic cutting edge - as at today!

The writer of this thread is not serious. Where did you get the statistics to judge that the students that graduated from those schools did not excel in various exams or various universities. People that go to convenant university and the likes, where do you think they schooled at. Or are you not aware of the number of qualified and discipled first class graduates some private universities churn out yearly?

Most of these students don't even end up going to tertiary institutions in Nigeria. They mostly end up writing SAT and other international exams.

It is good to train up children in good schools if you can afford it. Foundational schools are key to whatever one may become in the future.
Thank you!

Those that can comfortably send their children there, is good for them.
But if you're struggling type, don't kill yourself on those over rated schools.

Abeg, leave matter make we no use our poverty mentality take yab ourselves; parents that pay such amount are not really paying for the academic excellence; they are paying for the connection.

Imagine being the classmate of Dangote's, Otedola's and Dantata's children. If you know, you know.

Apt!

The basic shapes the child and will keep shaping the child even in higher learning. Very very important formative years of the child, the BASIC!

Abeg close mouth....its not their fault ur papa no get money.... always pained towards the rich.... the politicians and office holders that ruined this country, are they not from ur public schools?? Kids from those rich schools will run the country better that these fools we have in government.... poverty destroyed their human feelings and thats y the country will continue to suffer... children of the rich have more empathy than children from poor backgrounds...look at davido and wizkid .... dont mistake confidence for pride .... the noise makers we have all over the Internet are children of the poor that started seeing money...the rich don't talk... and always understand that I don't mean every rich and every poor....but majority of the rich or poor .... infact op...u are dull

Lol... OP wasn't expecting this.

Anyway, such schools offer more than academic excellence. They help ensure the rich stay connected with the rich. Such connections are referred to as the human currency and it's just as important as any other currency.

PALAPALA02 do you know that you are just myopic in your thought towards those schools? You think been the best in external examination is what it is takes to rate performance?. Do you realize there is more to academic paper qualification? You think those parents weren't smart enough to send their kids there after interaction with others?.

Funny thread. Generally speaking, what most people fail to understand is that expensive items don't translate to quality items. Same thing with the message the Op is passing out. Most times it's just for bragging rights and nothing more.
