Get an apartment that's close to your workplace. Even if it's a self contain. Maybe a walkable distance, preferably. Or better still prepare a night before. Pick out outfits,prepare documents and all items your taking along. Prepare your shoe down,arrange money your taking along. Infact bath and brush just before bed. Do you prepare breakfast? If you do (try to make something that is less time consuming (cereal or bread and tea) If you say you wake up early, reset your alarm like 40mins backwards. In other words wake up rinse your face and mouth, put on outfits, carry all the necessary items , wear shoe and dash out. Come back and tell me how it goes on Monday. Cooking, Making your breakfast by yourself, in the morning, could be among the causes of the lateness, Always try to have your breakfast prepared, at least half way, before you go to bed, you'll only put up in fire once when you're awake and in just 5min, guess what you've reduced time, Workouts Do you carryout any workouts on daily basis, you can minimise the time spent for that. Maybe if you always did , highest level, you bring it down to medium. Trends Don't operate your ohine in the morning, until when you're settled down at work., you can check it out fr messages or missed calls, but do not operate more that replying messages Good luck, and pray -telling God your intentions- not unnecessarily long devotions at a time it's less required to do so. Kennytowel:Hmmm.. I don't even eat before I leave home.. I just pick my food from the freezer already kept the night before and take to work and then microwave it when I'm ready.. Nyenatetan:Funny enough, I neither cook nor workout in the mornings when I'm on duty.. Even one day while I was still working at Ikoyi, I visited a friend at Ijede. I was to resume work by 2pm and I left the place at 11am, took speed boat to sandfill.. Till date I don't even understand what happened that day, we were just moving around in the water for such a long time and when I thought we had finally gotten to sandfill, we were back to where they picked us, they said something about not seeing clearly. A supposed 15mins trip o turned to over 1hr. We sha moved again, got to one other place, I can't remember now but still on the island and then there was now one strange traffic gridlock to ikoyi.. Got to work at past 4pm that day.. No be juju be that.. |

Sanmel: When you start blaming something or someone else for your problem, you should then know that you're your own problem. Start resolving your problem by getting to bed early, around 8pm. Put your bedside timer (buy one if you don't have it) on to wake you at 5am. Bathe, eat breakfast (1 hour is sufficient), and leave your house at 6 a.m.This works all the time if you keep to it. Another thing is that, the distance from your home to your work place and your means of transportation (public or private vehicle) could affect or determine the right time you need to wake up in the morning. Sanmel: I actually tolerate stealing than perpetual lateness. It's frustrating. I've had many of your types as former staffs. After 3 consecutive warnings, once you come late one more time, I tell you to pack your bags and go home. Fire you by text message and transfer whatever money you worked for in that month. I wake up 4:30am every morning and by 7:30am, I am at work. If you come in 5minutes after 8:10am, everyday. It means you don't want the job. We work in the health sector, your habitual lateness as a staff could kill people. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Write down your plans for the next day the night before, eat light, sleep early and when you wake up set out to follow what you've written down. No morning TV, no Whatsapp |

What l observed about late comers is that they like to give excuse about their bad habit. I have a family friend, when she was teaching in community school, she must go to school late to the extent that sometimes she doesn't take anything reasonable salary home ( they must have deducted her money as fine for coming late to work). Now, she has resigned and started her business. School bus will take her children to school by 7am, yet she will still get late to shop late. Opening around 11am. It is not spiritual, it is bad habit and they are not ready to change but to be giving excuse for their lateness. |

Sanmel: Plan your outing a night beforehand. EVERYTHING you need to do in the morning do it at night. The only thing to need to do in the morning is bathe. |

Sanmel: Sophiatheninth: Lol, If you're equally a forgetful person and you get easily distracted either during work or conversations... Then chances are it might be an underlying condition. Hard to say and hard to break it down. But these things when constantly experienced (despite conscious efforts against them) may point to a 'possibility' of Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder (Do a brief Google search if that could help). Now, it's equally not easy to assume or chalk it up to this because everybody experiences these things from time to time and at various degrees, but when they occur too frequently and start affecting your daily life up to a point of concern then you may want to consider a medical evaluation. It's very important you make confirmations before having assumptions however. Because these things happen (as I earlier mentioned) to everybody from time to time and at various degrees; it makes it easy for it to get disregarded as an issue to be considered, and then people begin to tag you as lazy (as you've gotten to see through the thread). Meanwhile you work twice as hard than the average person to accomplish the same things they do. While my post may point you to a new direction, I'd implore that you filter the advices from the backlash on the thread. Some of them are actually helpful behavioural therapies (which though you may have to put double efforts to achieve) are actually very helpful. I like to call them over-compensations. Try to wake up way early even if it means by the time you'd be done and get to office you'd be over 1hour early. Do it to save yourself and to be effective while you consider the medical aspect of it (if you choose to - depending on the degree at which it affects your quality of life). Have you tried taking your bath at night immediately before bed. It makes you wake up and simply brush your teeth and boom! You’re good to go! Try it. It works! |
