Was hoping for Ekong to prove me wrong

He has proven time and again to be a carpenter.

He would soon be done with his PhD thesis in Carpentry - with Mikel Agu as his Project Supervisor

I know that. The Point is the general state of football adminstration in the Country for a while.
you can as well blame the sport minister for that sir. His duty is to take care of Nigeria’s football teams

Maigari was relying on Federal Ministry of Sports for funding. Main Reason he's more like a Stooge, a Puppet to Government Officials. Quota System worked perfectly under Maigari for Selection of Squads for all our National Teams.

Most Northerners were drafted to our Age Grade Teams, where are they now?! Apologies to Northerners here, I am not condemning the Region, rather prefer fair Selection to Quota System.

Below is our U17 Squad for 2013 Tournament, how many of them from North is having a stellar Career?

Sunday Alampasu, Bello Zaraddeen, Japhet Raymond, Musa Yahaya, Chidera Ezeh, Isaac Success, Taiwo Awoniyi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alfa Abdullahi, Chigozie Obasi, Abubakar Abdulazeez, Baba Salihu, Godwin Saviour, Habeeb Makanjuola, Okon Denis, Uzoha Odinaka, Mohammed Musa, Chidiebere Nwakali, Abubakar Aliu, Idowu Akinjide, Godwin Samuel
how ethnicity take enter this matter?

Subzero047:
NFF owes Keshi seven months’ salary

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) owes Super Eagles manager, Stephen Keshi, and members of his backroom staff seven months’ salaries, NFF President, Aminu Maigari, confirmed over the weekend.
Maigari claimed the delayed payments were due to the financial constraints the football body is facing in recent times.
“It is true that Keshi has not been paid for the past seven months but the hands of the federation are tied over this matter,” he said in a SuperSports report. “It’s not as if we are hoarding this money and have refused to pay him. The NFF is in dire straits as far as financial resources are concerned.

“We have even had to slash the winning bonus of players of the Super Eagles from $10,000 USD to $5,000 USD as a result.”
Maigari said the NFF has taken steps to alleviate Keshi’s financial situation by taking responsibility for his hotel bills and feeding.
“There are several steps taken by the NFF in this regard to make Keshi’s life easier,” he said. “The rent of the hotel in Abuja he lives in is paid by the NFF. His feeding is taken care of by the NFF as well. He has an official car provided by the NFF and we ensure that any expense he needs to meet as he carries out his official duties are met by the NFF.
“Let me also use this medium to inform Nigerians that other staff of the NFF have also not been paid for over a year but they have continued working without complaints because they know the constraints we are facing.”

Others affected by the NFF’s financial constraints include the General Secretary, Barrister Musa Ahmadu; Director of competitions, Mohammed Sanusi; Director technical, Emmanuel Ikpeme, and the Director of finance.

According to Maigari, there are many more
“I am sure a lot of Nigerians do not know that even as the leader of the NFF, I have not received salaries for a single day so people should understand that we are selflessly serving the nation,” Maigari said.
The NFF president, however, insisted that the coaches would be paid their salaries as soon as “things improve.”
Keshi, who took the reins from Samson Siasia in November 2011, led the Nigeria national team to first place at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa, a feat that eluded Nigeria for 19 years. He is just a match away from qualifying the Super Eagles for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

This is who TheGoodJoe is portraying as a Saint here
.....but Maigari didn't lie about it.He came out to confirm it....I remember he later settled all outstanding debts when NFF received FIFA grant....Pinnick just need to come out when there are issues and Nigerians will understand.

Honestly I rated Pinnick highly but recently am not really happy about the state of Nigeria football....Amaju can do better.

Do you have any link to this because as far as I know NFF still owed Keshi to his death

After playing so well all day, Ekong proves himself again smh, giving away a needless penalty with less than 3 minutes to go.

@Darkelf, you are a real prophet!!!!!!!!!! Ekong should be fired honestly!!!!!
I don’t think that was a penalty though. That player just made something out of it.

Simon Moses deserves to be starting matches for us. He is definitely our best winger in Europe behind Dennis.

Look at how he confidently dribbled 3 players from few meters away from half line to score. But people here wants me to believe he can’t dribble bla bla bla. Misyaning okoto meow.

If there is anyone to blame, blame Rohr is coach. He is just playing to his instruction. Gbam!

You’re very MAD For saying that nonsense… when was the last time that Simon had a good game for Nigeria?? Over 2 years ago… A winger that couldn’t score or assist for his country in 6 wcq games and is hailed for his defensive qualities??this season Dennis has been Nigeria best winger followed by Ejuke…. As for Simon, he ends to improve on his production or he should be dropped entirely….. btw, a player performance at his club is different from his country

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by ChrisKels: 9:44am On Dec 11, 2021
Dennis's Strengths far outweigh his weaknesses, and this is what makes him the best winger in the Super eagles right now

Dude is a fine reader of the game, quick at picking up the flight of the ball, and aware of his teammates’ tendencies. These qualities have guaranteed that he is in the right places at the right time to help his team with his goalscoring touch.

He is always aware of the positioning of his opponents inside the box, and the rate at which he finds separation, within the 18-yard box, to be an option has been fascinating to watch. He can sniff out the ball watchers or the preoccupied before making them pay by moving into the empty areas and making them an option.

Another major threat of the menacing hornet is his ability to run in behind, his blistering pace is employed not only to gain ground but also to intelligently time his runs. As a result, if there’s a gap and the ball is on a teammate’s preferred foot; he moves with swiftness to get a jump on his man.

Lastly, as an astounding dribbler, his unique technique, pace and agility keep his opponents constantly guessing and makes him a challenging adversary to contend with. Opponents always have to be alert to handle him as he has a solid first touch and possesses a nice repertoire of moves that include shimmies, fake shots, step-overs, passes and hesitation moves.

It’s been a sight for sore eyes to see how he protects the ball under pressure and weaves away from danger with his great physique and balance. As mentioned earlier, his 5 assists so far highlight what a competent passer he is. He has provided his running teammates with an array of passes, from balls on the ground or air, to accurate crosses and cutbacks as well as some nifty layoffs.

Dude looks like a complete forward as he can easily fill in on both wings and also from the middle as he did yesterday

Joezinho:
Ekong's ground game is 'wack'. You don't go 'gung-ho' in a tackle, especially at that stage of the game.

The issue is why is Rohr playing Ekong when Akpoguma is playing well in Germany?
the striker dived... that was poor officiating from the refereeing officials..

the striker's studs were on Ekong's leg, it should have been a yellow card for diving for the striker or a red card for the striker stomping or stepping on Ekong's leg...

what's even worse is that the commentators were already blaming Ekong.. which shows that what the commentators say may be influencing those in the VAR department...

Simon plays better as a left winger, but in GWG, he mostly plays as either right winger or right wingback.

Rohr wants him defending more than attacking, thus you can't expect same outputs from him for both Club and Country.
