The kind of responses you get on this thread is why Nigeria would remain stagnant. The question is - did he follow due process of public recruitment and selection? if No, he has goofed with the appointment of his son.

What makes it wrong? Is it because he is his son or he is not qualified?

Well said , I think people should only complain if he fails in discharging his duties. Most people criticizing him without care for his qualification and competence might even appoint many of their unqualified relations if in his shoes and blame others when they fail.

This ain't nepotism, padna. It would be nepotism if the Son wasn't qualified for the appointment. In a way, remember that the Son is a citizen of Nigeria, nay Ondo State, who's naturally entitled to enjoy ALL the benefits that other citizens enjoy. And he must work like everyone else, or people would come out to ask, Where does Akeredolu's Son work? Even if the Son was offered a job in Enugu State or Bornu State or Lagos State, people would still have tied his success to hi fathers influence. Think it out.

So what is he helping the son to do now, bottom his shirt like he is a little boy of what? When did swearing in had to do with holding ones neck?

It refers to putting family members or relatives in position by public office holder. it really dent matter much if theyre qualified or not

I'm very much sure u didn't say the same thing when PMB was baselessly accused of appointing his daughter to NNPC board.

From ur comments, u don't have the moral right to challenge the nepotist appointment of PMB which is obviously very wrong but always hide behind competence which was never tested!

We should eschew ethno-religious bias and speak truth to our leaders irrespective of their status. It may not be constitutionally wrong but ethically wrong

Law aside, simple decorum tells you that by this action he (the Governor) puts himself in a breach of conflict of interest.

Should the son not also be given a chance like others or he should be denied his rights because he is governors son and later become unemployed and successive government not even consider him even when he is fit for the job?

What's wrong about the gesture? Is the Governor's son not from Ondo state? Is he not eminently qualified for the said position? Is it written in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that where one's father or mother is Governor, the person cannot hold any political or elective office? For your record, as long as the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is the guiding principle, Governor Akeredolu's son is a unique entity. I will stop here while imploring you to educate us on what nepotism is all about given that Governor Akeredolu doesn't know as a SAN like you pointed out.

Dude, don't qoute me if you can't be reasonable. We all know that President is a nepotist but if his daughter's qualified, she can be employed! There's nothing bad in it.
