As someone who spends his entire life in Minna, I can tell you that there are no job opportunities except you create a business yourself. Such businesses may include gaming center, football viewing center, provision store.

Right now, I'm just waiting to finish my degree in Futminna and Japa to another state like Kano or Abuja

Minna is okay, shuttling from Suleja to Minna is just a waste of Money and time, moreover Abuja is one expensive place .There is an important military facility there and plenty Yoruba and Igbo people especially around the Gap-tooth Generals school, still wondering when the fund raising for El Amin University would start. They are also rural areas at the outskirts as well as an airport if you need to Japa and a functioning train station, Minna people are not hostile, they are quiet friendly. Unfortunately for some weird reason I couldn't locate the General's house, because I need some explanation only him can give.

My office is located at Minna and I have two options to getting an apartment in Minna (close to the office but far from the nearest airport) or Suleja (close to Abuja but far from office). I would need the help of persons who know Niger state well.

1) What is the power supply situation in Minna and Suleja? Which is better?
2) Is the journey from Suleja to Minna (a 2hr journey) a safe one to make regularly?

I used to go from Abuja to Suleja to Minna weekly until last month. Just stay in Minna and so your thing. Minna is relatively secure, but some of the boys and agents are thieves. Infact there are more thieves in Minna than other criminals.

The areas around Brighter Schools are meant for a certain group of people; The Rich. It's peaceful, neat and noiseless. Every mallam with him kettle there.

Wait oh You want to be travelling 4 hours everyday,2 hours going 2 hours coming, my brother if you value your life please go to minna and look for a house. A word is enough for the wise. with all these insecurity everywhere and bad road ok na.

How much is your take home first before I comment

I smiled to most of the advice here. Someone that have not been to Niger state giving advice based on what he/she read online. However, some have adviced you well because they reside in Minna (thumb up guys).
1. Minna is a nice place to live.
2. Driving from Minna to Suleja is around 1½hr to 2hrs. That will be stressful for u. You have to consider security here.
3. If you are a Social type, Minna is a quiet place. Social life is kind of dull. There is embargo on alcoholic drinks. We only have few licenced bars. You can hang out in Abuja over the weekend.
4. There are cool estate and environment you can stay. I stay in Moris. You live around Bosso estate.
5. Budget 100k to 150k for your accommodation.
6. Power is moderately ok, better than most cities in south west. In Moris 9am to 2pm during the day. 9pm to around 2am in the night. Though there could be flunctuations sometime. Power around shiroro may be better. Power around residence of IBB and Abubakar is 24/7.
7. Internet service is cool
8. Citizens ( mostly Nupes) are accommodating.
9. Road network is cool.

Bosso is overpopulated and a tad bit insecure due to those local miscreants. London street is more decent, but I think op should settle in an area close to his working environment.

Am from suleja ... Here are what I can list as advantages of staying in suleja.
1)Good security as we have good security network in the town between vigilante and police
2) cost of living is cheap
3) friendly environment as it accommodate all sort of tribes infact all tribes in Nigeria have a chieftains under his royal highness Mallam Muhammad Awwal Ibrahim.
4)good network but light supply in some area is limited but place like APC quaterts light is 24 but accomodation is high...
5) you are very close to Abuja
