Report has it that the female soldier who recently got a marriage proposal from a corps member in Kwara State NYSC Orientation Camp is currently in the custody of the Nigerian Army.

According to GossipmillTV that shared the news alongside a voice note, revealed the female soldier is currently in a guardroom and is facing the consequences of her action.

Some outlined reasons for her apprehension include:

1) Not due for marriage.

2) Romancing on uniform publicly.

3) Absent on parade.

4) Indiscriminate behaviour.

5) Doing other things aside from her main purpose in NYSC Camp.

6) Disobedience to standing order of social media rule.

7) Disobedience and disregard to ethics and tradition of the Nigerian Army.

Corps member’s proposal to female soldier sparks controversy as Army orders her arrest

A trending video of a corps member proposing to a female soldier at the Yikpata orientation camp of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kwara State has elicited a flurry of reactions.

This corps member-army love tango is coming after a video clip of a female soldier assaulting a female NYSC member in Cross River State surfaced online in September, sparking an outrage.

The Nation learnt the latest open display of affection happened at the Passing Out Parade of Batch B, Stream 2 during the week.

In one of the now-viral videos seen by The Nation, the yet-to-be-identified corps member is seen holding a ring.

He knelt down to make his proposal amid cheers and applause from other corps members in the background.

The female soldier, accepting the proposal, got the ring fixed on her finger while they both sealed the romantic display with a kiss much to the delight of other corps members recording the incident.

The now-viral video has continued to spark mixed reactions on social media with many commending the male corps member for his bavery and geniue display of love.

But according to Eons Intelligence, a platform for intelligence gathering and security updates, it stated that the female soldier had been detained by the Nigerian Army authorities after the video clips went viral.

While the Nigerian Army and officials of the NYSC are yet to comment on the issue officially, Eons Intelligence noted that a signal by the Army stated that the female soldier has been identified and detained at a military detention facility in Ilorin pending further investigations.

The Army may be harsh on her, but their actions are entirely justified. A regular civilian will only look at this from an emotional stand point. The Army doesn't care about your emotions!
She's on an official assignment, and they expect her 101% attention and dedication. If a tragic incident occurs now, will she report back to the Army that she was kissing or getting proposed to, that's why she was distracted from her official duty?? If she had a Rifle during the proposal, is that how she would've abandoned the Rifle and be carried away with kisses??
Even if she wants to play lovey lovey, it shouldn't be when she's on uniform, in public, and when on an official assignment.
Rules are rules!

Nobody is saying she shouldn't kiss, romance, have sex or get proposed to, even on uniform, it is simply just wrong to do that while on OFFICIAL duty/assignment. Either she's in Sambisa forest or somewhere safe like Lekki, as long as a soldier is on official duty, he/she must abide by the rules of the Army.
Those male soldiers you see proposing to their partners, those soldiers are not on duty. They wear uniform to propose doesn't mean they're on duty. Soldiers on duty hardly relate with regular civilians, so as to avoid distraction, because anything can happen in a split second, and they'll be blamed for not being alert.
Those american soldiers you see can only propose BEFORE or AFTER they come back from their official assignment, NOT while on duty.

She'll be released. The highest thing the army can do is demotion by one or two stripes and life will continue afterwards. Anyway, congratulations to her for finding happiness in the ranks of bloody civilians

A male soldier on official duty will NEVER propose, especially in public, unless he wants to face the repercussions in guard room or theater. It is only when he is off official duty he can propose, even on uniform.

It has nothing to do with age. She's not ready for marriage because she's on official duties, which sometimes take several months. If she's married now, then she will be distracted by her husband and her wifely duties. How do you expect the Nigerian Army to make use of such lady? After all the months and years of training, you expect the Army to just release her like that because she's in love abi?
She knows what she signed up for.

If soldiers are calling you bloody civilian and you are also calling yourself bloody civilian,then it is very unfortunate.

Human beings have problem.

The white people were looking down on the black.

But instead of the black to also reciprocate by looking down on the white, they were confirming it by repeating what the white are saying and by believing it.

Even if I am not better than you but I begin to act as if I am better than you and you begin to confirm it by acting inferior around me just because I said I am better,then it becomes a reality.

Military are not better than civilians. The problem is just that because the military says civilians are bloody, instead of civilians to also find a derogatory name for the military, they are busy confirming what the military says by also calling themselves bloody.

It is very unfortunate the way people reason.
