What Catholic church is doing is what is called inculturation. Using your local way of life to worship God, that's why, instead of band, you see drum, ogene etc, Thanksgiving abroad is by cash, in Africa we go with goat, yam, farm fruits etc that's our way of life.

Instead of going to celebrate new yam harvest in shrine, the church encourage members by doing new yam harvest Thanksgiving

Instead of using the foreign made golden insect purifier, we can use our local earthen ware etc.

Before now, if you wear native dress like isiagu, you will be looked at like a heathen, but today it has become generally accepted as cultural wear that can be worn to church and not only suits

You do realize that during the time of Jesus, they had their own culture which includes their dressing, right?
