It js a sin for anyone, even your deeper life to celebrate any Holiday, even Christmas , in the name of Jesus Christ. This because Jesus Christ never gave us, in His New Covenant, any holiday to celebrate in His name. So even those who celebrate the eating of communion as if a holiday do so against Jesus Christ.

Instead, it is OK to celebrate any and all holidays provided we not drag the name of God into our celebration.

This is very harsh approach. You got to learn to disagree without being violently disagreeable. Is this what you learned in your Bible School, to talk very imprudently to someone?. Is his post wrong?. We all heard Kumuyi loud and clear when he preached against Xmas.

He only has opportunity to preach the truth.

Kumuyi has lost it so he's trying to regain the prominence he forfeited by following JWs in disguise.
JWs warned members to be mindful of the times they spend watching TV because they're supposed to be in the field ministry preaching and teaching in all their neighbourhood during leisure. Kumuyi outrightly condemned TVs for his followers after reading JWs magazine in secret.
JWs condemned the celebration of Christmas as pagan custom, Kumuyi followed without considering the adverse effect on his Church and how people in general will view him.

Adeboye was smarter, he does whatever the general public view as righteous so he became the choice of many including politicians, even a British high commissioner called Adeboye "Daddy G.O" due to his diplomatic approach towards all things.
These and many more are what Kumuyi now reconsidered that's why he's retracing his steps saying he will change most of Deeperlife doctrines before he die, because if he leave it the same way the church will die after him as all those attending only view Kumuyi as the only man of God qualified to preach and teach them!

It's not wrong for a pastor to minister but when a so called Pastor condemns a festival and goes into the gathering of the celebrators of the condemned festival then Jesus' word should be quoted for the pastor:

Stop judging that you may not be judged; for with the judgment you are judging, you will be judged, and with the measure that you are measuring out, they will measure out to you! Matthew 7:1-2
His own mouth condemned him, if he teaches that Christmas is wrong then he has judged himself for going to sit with those practicing what he himself said is wrong! Psalms 1:1

You actually think I care whether you celebrate Xmas or not?. This thread is only saying one of your prominent pastors is against Xmas due to it's pagan origin.

I didn't ask to care what my individual choice is. What I am instead telling you is that what your prominent pastor has here is sin against God.

how did he sin against God?. We all know Xmas began with paganism. Maybe you didn't study history. It was Rome festival. After they accepted Christ, they simply switched the name but they retained the date, December 25th, the birth anniversary of their deity called Mithra. Mithra was pagan Christ.

Anyways, happy Xmas . I am not condemning you for celebrating it. It is yours. Enjoy. But just so you know, you have no theological evidence for it

It is simple question now. Forget about Xmas. Whoever wants to celebrate is free to do so. I am only telling you what pst. Kumuyi said to his congregation. So again, are you Christian or you are one of those who claimed to be "disciple of Jesus" but are not Christian?.
