tshtsh:I understand your point. Like I mentioned earlier, I hate flying because I get really scared. But with Emirates, I feel kind of relaxed because of their record and standard. I'm not saying it's impossible for Emirates to crash either. |

SouthWestBlood:I don't know if you are paid to write this NONSENSE about Airpeace but no matter what, you and your likes can't pull them down. |

SouthWestBlood:The Airpeace flights are always fully booked. They don't need you to fly in their new Embraer jets, since you don't like better thing. I doubt if Emirates has jets as new as that of Airpeace. |

MPESA:Just because I'm not a frequent flyer I should drop my safety? I'm not pulling down Airpeace; rather, it's Airpeace that has been pulling down itself for quite some time now. Even as at 2020, when I flew Airpeace, they still delayed for over 1 hour. And I know it has gotten worse. We read the news. We see how people lament on these delays that reach hours. When this keeps happening, it shows unreliability, and who knows what's happening behind the scenes? You may fly frequently for 20 years and not be in any flight doomed to crash, while someone who is flying for the first time in 20 years might end up in an ill-fated plane. This is not a competition or who spends most on flying; what I have said above is what I stand on whenever I plan to travel. If 150k isn't much for you, it's much for me. If you are that rich, you can send me some money so I won't complain again about an hour flight that was 150k and now 250k. |

SouthWestBlood:I'm not talking about being Rich here , you only try compare EMIRATES to AIR PEACE which doesn't hold water to me even ET , I mean Ethiopian Airlines that been in existence can't be compared to Emirates, you singled out only Airpeace to compare to Emirates is what I don't like, back home I don't like flying LOCAL because of NIGERIA LACK OF MAINTENANCE CUTURE OF NIGERIANS, to be candid I was in Enugu in December and I have urgent matter to take care off in Lagos when I saw the only available airlines that I won't mention their and was so cheap of 38k to compare 50-60k Airpeace and Akwaibon Airlines but I VOW NEVER TO ENTER THEM instead I in Entered road that night and get to Lagos next morning with traffic at Redeem that want kill me.... So you having your preference airlines is UNDERSTANDABLE BUT SHOULD BE DONE WITHOUT TRYING TO PULL DOWM OUR LOCAL START UP... P.S I have two or three airlines that without them I can't travel LOCAL by AIR.... AIR PEACE, AKWAIBON AIR and of course UNITED NIGERIA AIRLINE, infact I was at a point hungry to enter Akwaibon Air due to their reputation of punctuality but to my greatest surprise some stories come dey fly up of late to the extent that it almost crashed this month abi na last month na fear make the hungry comot my body but it will not stop them been among my top three because even ET with brand new Boeing 737 MAX still crashed to the blessed memories of the departed souls, AMEN . So it can happen to any Airline as well. P.ss Why did I mention or choose THOSE THREE AIRLINES because they are relatively NEW AND BUY MOSTLY BRAND NEW AIRCRAFTS AS WE CAN SEE WITH AIR PEACE, AKWAIBON AND UNITED NIGERIA AIRLINE OR WET RELEASED FROM A REPUTABLE COMPANIES and I believed that have a better maintainace culture than others, you know when you marry a new wife or buy a new stuffs you will try to keep it in a better shape than your PREVIOUSLY owned. |

MPESA:To allay your fears Nigerian's airspace is safe. The narrative that nigerian airlines dont take maintenance seriously is just a perception . The same airpeace that is being bashed here went through the IOSA certification process thrice and passed. They went through the rigourous process of securing a commercial air transport license in China, South Africa and UAE. There boeing 777s are maintained by the Israeli Aerospace company. As part of their deal with embraer they have personnel from embraer on ground maintaining their aircrafts in LAgos. While everyone has the right to make their choice on what airline to chose to fly it shouldn't get to the point of assuming that airline A is not safe and airline B is safe. |
| Re: FG Reinstates Emirates’ 21 Weekly Flights by MPESA(m): 6:37pm On Dec 22, 2021 |
tshtsh:Thanks so much Sir/Ma , though I never undermined Airpeace infact I mentioned that Airpeace and two other Airlines are the only one can fly locally fly due to their new AIRCRAFTS and hunger to succeed because a Rome wasn't built in a day , it took ET , Ethiopian Airline 72 years to be giant of Africa birds on Air.... So both Ethiopian Airline and EMIRATES can't be compared with AIR PEACE. |
| Re: FG Reinstates Emirates’ 21 Weekly Flights by tshtsh: 10:06pm On Dec 22, 2021 |
MPESA:Definitely. Emirates are in a world of their own as they are state funded and part/parcel of dubai. Without emirates airline Dubai itself will witness a sort of recession thus they get all necessary support from the government and can even spend as much as $50 million on just upgrading the interior of their aircraft. On its part ethiopian is also a good airline but not as great as emirates in terms of comfort and this is partly because they are not as rich and wealthy. Ethiopian's success on the african continent was also as a result of the failure of other african airlines to do what they were meant to do (south african airways, kenya airways, nigerian airways all went south). Arik failed to take advantage of their position in nigeria to be a force on the aftrican continent and nigerians were left once again in the hands of foreign airlines. At a point aviation professionals became jobless in nigeria due to the collapse of major airlines. Sometime in 2013 I was walking to board a dana aircraft at lagos airport and I saw two aircrafts with the livery discovery air and air peace. I quickly dissed both off as another packaged feat that would not last. But years later I consistently saw the fighting spirit of the airpeace CEO challenging all kinds of problems that are a threat to survival of airlines in nigeria. He is very much disliked for challenging the status quo from aviation consultants who make a living off foreign airlines undermining his efforts to FAAN officials to his competitors to the aviation ministry offcials to nigerian customs to his pilots and even the foreign airlines for their anti-competitive behavior. But today his airline remits the highest revenue to FG & its agencies among the domestic airlines which probably explains why the hostilities against his company seem to have reduced. I believe Nigeria is a hostile environment to operate in and thus when I see an airline going against strong winds I give kudos to them. Its not easy over 50 airlines have closed shop in this space |
