Do you know any CEO that can dump $30bln in shares without causing a run on their company share price?

Elon used sense to cash out his shares at an all-time high disguising it under a taxation argument with Bernie so as not to harm share value.

Tesla Share price has done an unsustainable 12x since March 2020 with no discernable increase in sales volume.

Tesla which sells 500,000 cars per year is worth more than Toyota, Nissan, GM, Volkswagen, BMW and Mercedes combined which sell tens of millions of cars per year.

Clearly Elon has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to cash out after an unsustainable bubble run which must pop - easy, find an angle to do so under cover of tax argument. Elon was not even worth $30bln at the start of 2020.

So here's the Maths - the number of shares he sold were worth $2.5bln at start of 2020 are now worth $30bln. Clear out $30bln, pay $11bln tax and he has $19bln cash from something that was worth $2.5bln pre-tax and will eventually come down toward reality.

There is no CEO that can dump $30bln of shares in a company he directs in one go without Shareholders losing faith that he believes the company is way overvalued (and by turn, their holdings are way overvalued). That will cause a run on the company, and with the leveraged positions on that company, the share price would collapse like a pack of cards.

Elon found a way to do so under disguise of tax argument. That's what the sharp guys should be looking at, not focussing on the tax argument which is a distraction he created in order to do so. The point he was trying to make is he can't pay tax until he sells shares, which he did. Many billionaires simply borrow against their shares without selling them, thus paying no tax at all. I doubt Elon has paid $1bln cumulative tax in all his years on earth before this year.

Warren and Bernie's point is still a point worth debating ie how Govt can reflect Capital Gains without disposal of Shares. Capital Gains that won't be achieved without Fed pumping money into propping up Share-prices (Ben Bernanke recapitalising banks to allow them money to buy other companies, thus increasing their value, Obama trillion dollar bailout, Trump $2.2 trln rescue package, lending money to them at zero interest rates etc). Tesla is the poster boy for increases in valuation caused solely by increase in money supply brought about by these Govt interventions, not because of their performance in selling cars.

You sef judge if Elon is not taking his money and running based on the valuation of the companies below. Tax argument na smokescreen. Tesla is in the mother of all bubbles and bro is simply cashing out while he can. Tesla suppose to be where GM is at best with $78bln valuation, not the $1trillion it is sitting on. SpaceX will be the real game changer for him if he can deliver wifi and telephone communications from his satellites and control the Telcoms industry, that's where the crazy money is. The Tesla valuation is just a fad that values Tesla at the value of the whole automotive industry put together, as if other companies won't also release EV and catch up whatever Technological advantage he holds. NIO in China has already caught up with regards to EV

I don't know, even scientists are baffled. When Ebola was taking lives, the deaths and infections were well documented. Ebola killed at least 11k people. I don't know if that is in one country or worldwide but the CDC website said 11k. we can see how that was documented. Here in Nigeria, I will say na God they save us.
