He had a fractured eye socket and cheek bone.

This is not just a simple bruise.

There is a need for physical recovery, then mental and then he has to get match fit.

He would have been told to take it easy on those aggressive and sometimes reckless do or die challenges.

However, this is intrinsic to his game AGGRESSION is his DNA , he may have to find another way to express himself.

Its not just about a medical diagnosis that says his bones are healed. If that fracture had healed so well.

WHY ON EARTH IS HE WEARING A PROTECTIVE MASK❓❓ fashion

He is not the only striker in the SE and furthermore he is not necessarily the best in the HERE and NOW.

The most in form striker as it stands, as we speak are Awoniyi and Dennis that's the fact of the matter.

Many here will not like that.
He is not the first to wear a protective mask. Cech, Ramirez etc, had head injury yet played with a protective mask!

Coach Bud doesn't seem to trust him to step in during clutch time..I've noticed it from their games this season.. Before now, even Thanasis was getting more minutes than him...

No he definitely has been getting more minutes than Giannis brother. That one is strictly playing garbage time. Middleton and Giannis are elite closers so that's the reason why he won't see much clutch time minutes as of yet. With the way he is coming along Bud will be confident to give Giannis longer rests.

With the look of things. It seems Eguavon won't be leading the super eagles to the Nations Cup next year.

IF IT IS A FOREIGN COACH, IT WILL BE A DISASTER.
SUCH A COACH DOES NOT KNOW OUR pLAYERS OR THEIR STRENGTHS.
MARK MY WORDS.
IT WILL BE LIKE FRANCE 98.
A FORMER STAFF IS BETTER WHEN THERE IS NEED FOR EMERGENCY LEADERSHIp.
EGUAVON SHOULD TAKE US TO THE NATIONS CUp.
THE NEW COACH MIGHT EVEN TRY AND CONVERT CHIDERA EJUKE TO A WING BACK
BECAUSE OF SOME IDEOLOGY OF HIS. HE WONT UNDERSTAND OUR pLAYERS

To steady the ship I think. As at yesterday, Amaju pinick claimed we are in contact with 3 coaches and if the deal pull through he confirmed that the appointed coach will lead the super eagles to the AFCON. I just hope things work out because this fire brigade approach isn't ideal.

The year is almost at an end and we haven't been able to start anything about the annual Nairaland Nigeria Football award started by Chief icon4s a few years ago. I'd hate to see us miss out on this year edition, seeing as the award as become sort of like a traditional part of this thread.
On this note, I hereby volunteer to coordinate the award this year as requested by icon4s.
However, I will be limited to coordinating it online only, meaning I won't be able to tak over the responsibility of having the award designed or delivered to the glass house.

Anybody that wish to join me in coordinating it should please indicate.
Thank you.

You guys are still caught up with Messi in the era before the explosion of the modern game. Today, you can not find players floating up and down the field with the ball. The question is why?

The fact is simple, it is more difficult now. The players today are for more knowledgeable than the players in the past. The players today are far more conditioned than in the past. The players today have more work rate than in the past. The players today defend more as a unit than in the past.

So how is it possible to you that defending in the past is better? That is impossible.
More conditioned? Work rate? Huh? Bless God for tapes of "old football"

Which one of your modern defenders can raise a candle to the Maldini and Cafu I saw.

Joe, the only reason you won't see players floating around is because of coaches instructions. You know it

but you said Kelechi’s 12 in 25 games from last season is dodo and beans

Can you please tell me where I said that❓

And if you cannot then you are BIG LIAR , very simple.

I should add that my comments that you quote where in the context of this season and expressed as the reason why KC is on the bench and Vardy is not and is first choice striker.

I will add Vardy has been doing that consistently for the past 7 seasons in Leicester city . His lowest goal tally in the EPL in theses last 7 seasons has been 13 goals.

He old man Vardy has scored 9 already and the season is just about half way or even less.

If he gets injured who takes over?

This is the question begging for answers but no, let's continue to make it look as if Nwakali is coming to take over the 11 positions on the field of play.

With regards to Chelsea goalkeeper it took him over three months to recover.

It may be that Osimhen injury was more serious. When you consider that Osimhen had 18 screws and six plates fitted in his cheekbone as part of the rebuild surgery for his face.

Thats very serious stuff and could have been life threatening his eye actually came out of the socket.

So stop talking irrational balderdash.

Cafu and Maldini were running against unfit players. That is why they looked stellar. Today they won't be that gracious.

The guys today boast of the kind of condition and even more than the likes mentioned above.

Watch Cancelo play. He does more than the likes of Cafu and Maldini did. He even plays as a creative midfielder despite playing as a right or left back. Still bags assists and crazy goals.

Even Gary Neville confessed he would not have been able to cope with the intensity and work required from players today.
