Dangote Cement industry comes to mind.....
The Cement factory at Ibese has more than 150 Indians doing what Nigerians can do.
Funny thing is that they pay these so called expatriates in dollars and pay Nigerians doing same jobs and at same level in Naira.

Imagine an Indian doing same job being paid 3000USD monthly whereas their Nigerian staff are receiving 90,000 as basic salary grin

When it comes to expatriate quota, Most companies hide under a banner that is so opaque. I won"t lie to you it cuts across all industry.

For me our labour laws are weak ( maybe less en forcible) due to corruption in the system. It would take us alot of self and political will to get there.

Please we need expatriates. Just like Asians are here doing jobs Nigerians can do, Nigerians are in the USA and Europe enjoying jobs their people can also do. We should stop crying wolf all the time. If only our people can invest big in Nigeria, then they can choose to favour local experts over professionals.

But the expatriate issue is being abused by the Indians I must say. In the companies they run, 90% of the top management position are run by their people, the rest is by Nigerians. Too uneven.
It seems you don't get the whole gist. You see a job advert in Nigeria and the tell you applicants should be expatriates. Is that not madness

What are you saying ? So, using just one person out of million Nigerians or using a region to generalise your point doesn't mean that we don't have the capacity or intellectuals in all the regions to perform the same job. Infact, we can do better.

Make Una come iron and steel Una go cry for Nigeria and Nigerians, ordinary petty work like counting, CSO, monitoring of Wight bridge, QC inspector etc are being done by so called expatriates that are good as casual or novice in their country but they brought them to Nigeria as expatriates. So called expatriates were trained by Nigerians and doing the same works with Nigerians but collecting x20 of the amount being paid to Nigerians To my own understanding all this useless companies are just taking advantage of Nigeria laws to defraud Nigeria and repatriate some of their profits. Nigeria government can bring out up to 500 thousands jobs if it focus on this so called expatriates

You see those Indians, they need to be handled the way Ghadaffi handled them
If any foreigner is coming in they should be employed at our technical and science universities to train Nigerians to do the job and not come and take the jobs themselves.
When this is done we will be having them replicated and the knowledge exchanged into every students that passes through them.

Imagine as the face of the company in a state, I resumed work at 7a.m. very optimistic with my heels, nice suits and we'll made hair clean n fresh graduate. Ok I'm to wear the face of the company robe and go to work with them in market places if the state to advertise their products which was cool for me. But to my shock, I had to trek with them to d places with heels? I got exhausted and needed to have launch with my own cash but was told no that I'm at work till 4 pm. So I should collapse? I adamantly had to eat in one of the bukkas I saw people eating in d market which I haven't even done before but I had cos I was very hungry n tired, then came urine. I asked to be allowed to ease myself but was rebuffed but I stubbornly did left to a Zenith bank in the market where I was warmly welcomed to use their rest room after showing evidence I bank with them using my ATM card. I returned almost immediately n continued with d adverts n all. At 4 p.m I was told to follow d workers to a place where we are to offlaod cartons of chi products in a big warehouse, I asked if I'm among n I was told yes!!! Well I said my job for d day is done n I'm to take my leave as I didn't sign up for this, I was told no I just went to d Nigerian representative and reported to him that I can't be among those to do such he told me I just have to if i must remain in d good book of the white man an Indian or I should go tell him myself, Omo I demanded for his contact and was given so I called him telling him this side of the job wasn't clearly specified n I didn't sign up for that he said something I didn't get n ended d call on my own credit n all. I just turned to the Nigerian representative I told him I'm leaving for my house and I left with other workers looking at me with fear others with surprise at my stance n courage. D next day I came by 12 noon n dropped my resignation letter, informing them that I can't do such job at that that pay n that I gat to go for my masters now too, so I stormed out of the white indian goat's office after throwing the envelope on his table. No one did shit cos I already made statement at d station before coming n my uncle is a SAN too.

They are scared that Nigerians will loot their companies dry, so they put the management in the hands of expatriates. That is why we have lots of expatriates around in Nigeria . Many Nigerian management staff cannot be trusted . Simple.

I can bet it those Nigerians working in Europe, America and other countries where not being paid up to times 20 of what being paid to the country men and women of those countries doing the same work with Nigerians in those countries. Also nobody is saying there should not be expatriates but abuse is what we are complaining of. Companies in Nigeria will have up to 25% to 20% of his work forces as expatriates that will be trained by Nigerians and so called expatriates will be collecting times 10 to 20 of what being paid to Nigerians
Re: Tension In Foods, Drinks Sector Over Expatriate Quota Abuse by UnabashedIPOB: 3:14pm On Dec 27, 2021
Vanguard’s investigations revealed that there are no fewer than 456 foreigners in 41 companies in the sector doing jobs Nigerians can conveniently do, with four of such companies accounting for 186 expatriates.

IT's very disheartening that your country, LIEGERIA is the only country where foreigners have more rights and are treated better than the citizens. For instance, in developed countries, citizens are the main focus of every government economic policies. The government is always thinking of ways to reduce unemployment by providing incentives albeit tax or grants to small and medium sized businesses that are really the economic engine of a country. And if a business is hiring for any position, citizens are given priorities before foreigners are considered but that seems NOT to be the case in the damned ZOO. What a USELESS and SHAMELESS country!

They are paid more because they have higher skill. There is no profit in hiring expatriates and paying theme more if Nigerians would give the same value.

It's always a thing to blame foreigners working in your country but they always provide more jobs than they take generally. We have way too many poor people to be worried about the very few jobs these foreigners take. Driving foreigners away from jobs has never worked out well for any African country. Its only always popular cus the indigenes think they will take over their jobs. Kinda hope pursuing igbo from some areas in the north only made those areas poorer.

A foreigner is paid $3000 ( ₦1,233,600 ) per month. while a more qualified Nigerian is paid ₦90, 000 per month in Nigeria...

that means the monthly salary of 1 foreigner can employ an additional 12 Nigerians who are paid ₦90, 000 per month...

you say we have to many poor people yet to be worried about " few jobs these foreigners take"... from the above explanation, the foreigners are the ones making sure Nigeria has many poor people because by bringing in these foreigners they are helping the foreign countries by reducing the foreign countries unemployment situation while increasing Nigeria's unemployment situation which leads to poverty.
