bro what's the name of the car and color but this so called armed robbery police officers have upgraded to the extent that they switch no plates of cars seized from individuals and use them to do their deeds thats why most of the time you must have someone thats connected. There was a time I was stopped by those IRT guys in Mapo close to shop rite and I had about 400k with me after so much dragging and series of slaps I told them I want to call someone and they obliged which was their mistake and I called someone high in PSC that was my saving grace even with the call, one of them still got really pissed that I outsmarted them and said he will give me one for leg but after all the bruhaha I gave them 20k for fuel thats despite making the call. Those people are way worse than armed robbers.

It actually can. For instance, bringing the police under state/local structure/control would go a long way in curbing issues like this. It's a leadership failure on all levels.

Op, I am very sorry that you went through that terrible experience. Many officers of the force are terrible human beings. Earlier this month, my neighbor had an issue at a police station, and I accompanied him to resolve the matter. In the course of discussion with a senior ranking officer, he narrated how 5 of them got involved in a case. At the end, 3 died mysteriously, 1 went mad, while he is the only surviving and sane person left.

I've had similar experience with them at Limca or 7up junction around Ojota.

Your greatest mistake was to obey them and get into their car.... You should have stood your ground that you insist on knowing their identity. As they're bringing out their ID card to show you, take out your camera and snap immediately... They'll want to use force on you at that point but telling them you're now on Facebook or YouTube livestream would make them drop their guards.

Most crimes in Naija cities these days are organised crimes. Someone from the force must be behind it for it to scale through.

Worst case is that you have no prove to show for it except for the withdrawal which they'll comfortably deny.

My guy, the ones we experience in Imo State is even far worst. Those guys will abduct you, take you to their anti-kidnapping unit Tiger base and throw you into a cell. Seize your phone and won’t allow you make any phone call unless you’ve struck a bargain and agreed to pay a certain amount of money. This story doesn't add up. Is it possible to withdraw over 500k from an ATM card in Nigeria? I always believed the max is 100k. Also why would you allow them whisk you away without creating a scene. It's possible this event took place, but something must have exposed you as a potential target

I've read of a similar story of security personnel who him and he's wife were almost kidnapped to by police. They trailed him from area 3 and when he noticed they were following him, he entered an estate and they still followed him into the estate. When they realized he's a security personnel and there is no way they won't track them if they kidnap him and he's wife, they left.

It is also very possible they aren't policemen. Armed robbers have been known to dress up as policemen while operating.

They could also be policemen really, not ruling that out. But having heard too many stories of impostors pretending to be police or army and committing crimes , I won't be surprised if they turn out to be impostors.
