But many western countries will scrap deisel / gasoline engines by 2050.... why can’t we get ourselves ready for electric car that’s the future
We can get ourselves ready for electric cars when we make Powerbank available to complement the battery shutdown of the car. Western countries has little or no issue with power failure unlike in Nigeria, that is just the difference.

Oga electric cars are not like ice cars, they so not consume power when idling in traffic, the owner simply did not charge his car.

That's not true.

Nigeria will collect loan for everything except for things that would make the maximum impact.
Have you ever wondered why Nigeria can't collect money from China or elsewhere to fix electricity or build new refineries? The answer is simple.

Those 2 areas will produce a positive effect that would improve the state of the country and empower the citizens but what the government and Nigerian elites don't want to see is the progress of the common man.
Keeping the common man poor and suffering is a good tool to control them and use them for their selfish interest.

The poorer the people, the better for the elites who want total control of the people.

Honestly, I’m beginning to believe this hypothesis that there is a consensus amongst the elite to keep the masses impoverished. But what really befuddles me Is when a few breaks out from the impoverished mass and makes it into the political class, they start acting under the same consensus. Any explanation?

Look at Oshomole, wasn’t he part of the struggling class impoverished by the ruling elite.

Don't be stuppid, this is not a Buhari thing rather it's a Nigerian thing. Did any of your past & previous government ever delivered stable power supply? undecided

You are thoroughly uncivilised. Just go to hell, pork

You are right. I want to believe that it is a black man thing unfortunately. There is no other explanation that would make sense.

Let us even remove Nigeria and evaluate all black owned or black dominated countries from Africa to Central America, there you see a pattern. I think we have this mindset of let me win and let others loose instead of win win. We as a people are happy to win and see others loose. This I think is the foundation of our problems.

Lolz. Welcome to Nigeria, welcome to lasgidi. He must have drained his battery while in traffic. Next time he would seek Google map help on traffic situation per route before he steps out.

This is one of the reasons I say Nigeria isn't progressing. 4th mainland bridge and lagos owned airport which Tinubu had been using to campaign since 1999 are a mirage. I'm sure they'd still use the same to campaign to gullible lagosians come 2023 and they'd believe them hook line and sinker. Our mumu go do one day. They know how to catch you people with lies. The earlier you guys join us in chasing them away, the better. Lagos had become their business centre.

We wouldn't have been facing terrible traffic in lagos today, had Pa janakde been allowed by buhari in the 80s to complete the lagos lite rail which is neither here nor there today. Successive governments would mount a few pillars of the lite rail and leave. They keep using it to campaign but the same man can own 3 private jets and his blind supporters would say there's nothing bad about it.

My friend came from the UK to help with Lagos water transportation during fahola regime, he looked at the proposal and pushed it aside. This guy works in same company in the UK as a senior manager and the British company promised to finance it 100% that he should come and do the ground work at home.

Long story cut short, this guy's proposal was plagiarised by those in government then but they got stuck due to lack of financing. They now bought 2 boats for this purpose which plied ikorodu-island route.

Sanwoolu government invited him and had a chat with this guy. He staged a walk out after they said the profit would be shared 60/40. What a state undecided

In my friend's proposal, he wanted to ensure that both buman and vehicles were ferried from Island to mainland. In that proposal, one ferry would convey over 1000 passengers at a time. Very robust one. But because they wanted to short change him, he dropped the idea and left. That's the way lagos rolls. They're anti-people. They didn't consider the relief such a project would have had on lagosians.

Shame in our government. The replica of the proposed lagos airport to be cited around lekki which they've been using to campaign since 1999 was what Anambra who doesn't have up to half of lagos revenues had done in less than 4 years without making noise , bayelsa too. We will get sense one day .

I got your point. Those folks in government and their godfathers are demons. Had slightly similar experience with a tech I developed that would help people avoid buying land that belong to the government. In all honesty, the main guy leading the office responsible was all in buy its someone who happened to be a fake "pal" that work directly with the governor that talked (behind my back) say "land na territory of their forefather on Bourdillon Street" and it's a no go area. So it's okay if people continue to lose billions every year. Not surprised though. That's the way it goes in Lagos. About the Epe Airport thing, the problem has more to do with the fact that there is already a federal airport in Lagos.

You're right there are 2 Fed airports in Lagos but our population and proximity suggest to me that we need one for our state. Lagos is unofficially 21m in population. You can draw the population of 3 African countries from it. London City alone had 5 major airports Heathrow, Gatwick( owned and operated by our own, Mr. Ogunlesi), Stansted, Southend and London City Airports and they are all busy. In population, Lagos almost trippled London so, we will be fine with a state owned airport. Don't also forget that our population is increasing. That Epe is another lekki in the making, with the way people are thronging there now. The airport would also serve a significant part of ogun state. They're not just serious ni. Happy new year.
