ACTUALLY HISTORY REPEATS ITS SELF: As we have had siblings attain that rank in the past in the army in the persons of the Bamaiyi brothers, Major General Musa Bamaiyi and his younger brother Lieutenant General Ishaya Bamaiyi.
I love the way u backed up Ur comments with facts...it's really cool...thank you for the fact though, I neve knew.

Also Col Theophilus Banigboye and Col David Banigboye both became the administrator then
Yes, Theo was never a general but David was.
If we should go by this, we have them in hundred.
Even David Bamigboye retired as Brig Gen.
Do you know what it takes one to attain the enviable Rank of Maj Gen, not to talk of brother as achieving such.

The careless I.Bamaiyi whose son mistakenly shot his younger bro. Dark tales of Ztown
You are digging history too much, but it was not Ishaya Bamaiyi, but Musa Bamaiyi.
This happened sometimes 1988 or 1989 in depot Zaria, Col Musa Bamaiyi then was the Depot commandant, he kept his loaded service pistol on the table and was about to leave for work that day and forgot something in the bedroom he went inside to pick that thing.

His son was less than 7 then innocently picked up the pistol and pointed it to his younger brother, trying to practise what they usually watched in the movie, behold, he pulled the trigger and shot his younger brother at the forehead in a close range, the whole Chindit Barracks was agog that day.

Indomie generation can't even get this in google, but may God preserve the elders to continue shedding more light to our yesteryears history which your generation have been deprived of in school.

Before I say congratulations to them, so two brothers decided to join Army in Nigeria...!! Anyways, things was soft when they joined
Re: Gagariga Brothers Become Generals In Nigerian Army by omolola12345(m): 10:56am On Jan 01, 2022
Two brothers from the same family. They will also use their influence to help their children and their relatives. Nepotism and favoritism is the order of the day in Nigeria. We that we go to school up to the level of masters degree never get job for almost 10 years now.

True Nigerians ! May God bless you my Generals;I'm proud of you !

I sincerely hope that Nigeria will get her acts together beginning from this year otherwise, Yoruba people have a foolproof blueprint to leave the country behind. This message is like a lone voice in the wilderness but nobody should doubt its accuracy !

Omo Yoruba yio gba ominira ni odun yi ti orille ede Naijiriya ba tesiwaju ninu radarada re !

Must I know anybody, talkless about everybody. Its you that knows them that will tell us about. Besides, I know Nigeria and the Nigerian ways of doing things. Have you considered who have been receiving the National Merit Awards, year in year out. Those who don't merit anything. It's same way all through. Then do you need intellectual prowse to the Nigerian Army. No, you need connection. Do you so much need exemplary competency to rise in the Nigerian Army? No, you need a godfather. Are you not going to call the recent judicial appointments in Rivers State great achievements lateer on, where almost all the appointees are related one way or the other, and mostly ikwerres ? So I leave you to your conjectures with your hollow mind.
Re: Gagariga Brothers Become Generals In Nigerian Army by wink2015(m): 11:05am On Jan 01, 2022
After the the late Major Orkar coup the army started opening up opportunity to minorities to join the army.

They also open opportunity for miniorities to attain senior military position.

That is why an Igbo man was once the chief of army staff.

Now two ijaw brothers are military general ( major general ) that was very rare before in the 80s.

But I'm more concerned about how they felt when Odi was collecting that year from the army.

Congratulations to them but do the same for others when they do exploits.
. We also had the the Bamaiyis from Kebbi state, no one said anything then.

Thank God they are both from Bayelsa...if you know, you know wink
Infact, until they wrote from Bayelsa, I already believed they were Hausa/Fulani. I had to see Bayelsa the 2nd time to be convinced.

Congratulations! Hope all of us shouting congratulations will not say nepotism and favouritism when we hear another news like this from another tribe.

The one I am against is PDP members making their siblings, relations, wives and friends judges.

Like we saw with Nyesom Wike of Rivers half of the judges and magistrates in Rivers are married, children or relations of PDP members.

PDP members from Rivers their wives and children are judges and magistrates

Wike
Austin Opara
Ken Chikere
Peter Odili
Chukwu former PDP state working committee
Onuoha
Roseline Konya

Douye Diri of Bayelsa state is doing same thing.

Judiciary is gone at least PDP killed it.
Very wrong imo but who has buhari appointed as Agf.

Please sit down sir.

This is just promotion at work, not political appointment. It's like 2 brothers being promoted to level 12 or any other level in the civil service. Nothing special.

You don't know what you are saying. Minorities have always been more in the Nigeria Army from inception but the commander or leader must be Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa

Both siblings from kebbi state
In fact the LT Generals MUSA BAMAIYI and ISHAYA BAMAIYI are even born of the same mother and father and there was a time one was Chief of Army Staff and the other was NDLEA boss. The situation was accorded so much importance that their biological mother was given an award by NIGERIAN ARMY.
