- Power lines too close to metal/zinc
- If it was an electrical surge why did the fuse not trip and the matter end there?
- Roofing timbers (type?) fuelling the fire (almost sure not to contain fire breaks in the design)
- Would a tiled roof burnt like this?
- Suspended ceiling or 'POP' used internally
- No visible means of escape (external staircase)
- Despite an overhead tank being in close proximity, there was probably no water in it
- And then the fire men arrive after 1 hour with faulty equipment?
- Why would a generator be used inside?
- Like 'Next' the response has been suspiciously disgraceful

Considerations whether you plan to build or have already built........Fire service won't save your investment!
Omor... like this you sound like an insurance claim adjuster oo....I'm just curious. No offense.

Na wa, your write up gave me a headache

Angrygoat:
You can see how daft and backward the fire service works in the shit hole, . So because it's an emergency, they just took heir sluggish time, raced to the scene, without first testing the equipment to see If its working well or not. I mean it took them an hour to get there, and when they did, they were unable to put out the fire.. why,the equipment did what,it fumbled and malfunctioned. Is nigeria not dead. Secondly I'm sure he did not turn of gen before nepa came ,and groom, current got into the gen a d gbooaahhh,it caught fire. Hahahaha

There is a fire service station right there in surulere and 20mins from that street yet fire service came 1hour later and with malfunctioning equipments.

What a useless state Lagos has become.

Yet Lagos claims to be a mega city? More like a highly corrupt and mismanaged state. undecided

It's high time Fire service department compelled builders to include fire and smoke detection systems in their building.

Can smoke detectors put out an inferno??

Another reason I am beginning to fall in love with the idea of flat roof garden terraces, instead of conventional roofs. All that roof timber just became unintended fuel for the fire.
In senegal it is the normal design for homes and it is rare to find a house with a zinc roof.
