Resident of imagbon ikorodu were wondering if there's government at all with what they witness from 12am till morning today,the way oil vandal's were moving oil from with sacks,tanker and jerican with the help of military personnel and local security.I hope one day the people at the top will come to the resident rescue because they don't want to witness the disaster they face couple of years ago.

Better wish one day the residents will gang up and flush those vermins out. The Nigerian govt coming to your aid has exactly the same chances of happening as the devil repenting.

Estate is different from private house. There ought to be freedom of movement inside any estate, while private house needs a warrant to gain access into it.

I was caught up in that gridlock myself, it was estate residents who organised a protest and blocked their own gate after the policemen had done their thing and left. They just inconvenienced themselves for nothing

So if a policeman carries a bottle of beer and wants to relax in your sitting room, all he has to tell you is that "I'm not here for search. I just wan relax". Then he has the right to do that, right? SMH.

Buhari too far, even captain of the Nigerian military would beat the daylight hell in those security guards and still lock the estate down for 2 hours. Nothing go happen!!!

It's many people's property. The many people gave an instruction to the security details that the many people employed that nobody comes in except one of the many people the person is looking for is called and notified. Now, is it clear or you need further simplification?

No private estates law can override that of the state or Federation, the privilege to operate as a private property was given by the authority, the government can decide to revoke the permit given to operate such property. We should not think too Full of ourselves

There is no estate in Nigeria that is private property. Only the houses inside the estates are private properties. Anyone can enter any estate while there is a need to get a warrant to enter into private properties.

Untrained and overzealous security guards stopped a Commissioner of Police, not just any CP, but the one in charge of that very State moving with the paraphernalia of office...and our anger against just anything will not make us see the depth of unsoundness of their decision!

Whereas it may be stories for the gods to say CP was there to see someone for security reasons, he's within known norms to move anywhere within Lagos territory unhindered and It won't take 5mins for a sound security guard out of the minimum of four at the gate to seek express permission from the head of whichever committee in charge of that gate to allow the CP a passage if not for affront!

If your education and exposure won't allow you separate issues and judge matters on their merit, what difference does that make to the world?

listen to urself! Relax? Do u relax on duty? But police work is more dan search and arrest. Police has RIGHTS to come to ur house without warrant. Maybe u don’t know that the roads in the estate is the property of d local government?

Yeah. There should be freedom of movement in an estate. So, why employ security details? Every Tom, Dick (which describes the police CP perfectly) and f**king Harry should just be allowed to enter into the estate, stroll around and all that.
You know the problem with Nigeria and Nigerians? Some people always feel they are special, so laws should not be applicable to them. That is not the lousiest aspect. The lousiest aspect is that those the law is trying to protect don't mind lining up to defend the law breakers who are making them look like they are second class citizens.

The newly promoted Commissioner of Police to Assistant Inspector-General of Police went to the Estate with his full armed details, convoys and escort in their official uniforms including the CP. And prior to his arrival, his Power Bike was the first person to get to the estate gate for proper alertness inspite that he introduced himself to the security guards and he was stationed there for complete 30minutes. Can they render such humiliation to Army. Pls sentiment apart

You will see we as civilian revealing our gate pass before we are allowed to enter while all military men once you are on uniform or can identify yourself will be allowed without asking to make any calls. Ordinary magodo with their pot holes and unstable power supply is now stopping a CP. that's nonsense

You think those security will do that without a standing order? There is more to the story and I don't believe the police side of it cos they are naturally liars

Thank you. Is the poluce now the govt as we know it? Because i understand it will require a lesislative or executive order to revoke the permit.

We forget that it is ILLEGAL to erect a gate or obstruct movement in Lagos Private security can control access to PRIVATE properties and NOT PUBLIC ROADS for Pete's sake! Please ref the link below.

Still not the faults of the guard , some estates have strict instructions to guards not to let police in without explicit permission from the estate leadership...this is to forestall cases of illegal harrasment of estate dwellers by rogue cops

When anyone build or buy a house, he/she doesn't buy the road with it. The constitution of Nigeria guarantee freedom of movement, we only have the right to restrict movements inside our house, not on the road.

That's why most estates in Lagos are now habouring high ranked criminals and fraudsters, they're always scared of security personnel.

It's high time government stop this estate madness and let people move freely, they're going overboard.

They even cause heavy traffic on major ways close to their gate when stopping car or checking them, they create long queues to the road.
