Hello everyone,

I need your assistance to enable me make a business decision. My brother approached me today to buy a car with which he could start uber business. My budget is between 1,5 and 1,8 million.

My intention is that he pays the money every week/month until I recover the purchase amount. The problem is that there's no way I could physically monitor his performances/activities. I would have to rely solely on what he tells me because we don't live in the same country.

Could you please give me suggestions as regards how profitable the business is, the pitfalls to avoid and how realistic it would be to recover my investment within a year or a little above that.

I'd really appreciate your inputs. Thanks for your time

Please Those using Honda civic 07, which Oil brand are you using?

I bought a Nigerian used Honda civic 07 and i want to service it tomorrow morning. But i don't know the right oil brand to use. User manual said 5w20. But the right oil brand is my problem now.

Is d car upto 2yrs in Nigeria?, if yes, Find out d oil previous owner has been using and continue with that oil.
If car is not upto 2years and they weren't using d recommended oil then u can switch.
Good brands are numerous, choose anyone that suits ur pocket just make sure it's imported directly by ur plug.

U have little options...and greatly handicapped in this deal. I don't see how this is a business decision if u only want your exact money back in 1yr so first of all, I want u to have it in ur mind that u have set your brother up with 1.5m. if you get it back, great. If not, no bad blood.

The business is profitable, good enough for him to remit 30k weekly provided the car is up to standard and in optimum working condition for atleast d first 6months. The condition of the car is vital and a precursor to the success of the business, so go for not more than a 2.4litre engine car not too complicated to operate and repair. Search thread for a list of cars recommended for the Hussle.

You can not recover your money back within a year cos your brother will eat, pay bills too, fall sick and unplanned situations.
Let me ask ?
Has your brother been driving on Uber/bolt before now or he will just start?
If yes ?
just set him up on another business.
Cause You won’t get your money back in 2years

The car is not up to two years sir but almost (May 2020). The previous owner doesn't know the brand of oil his driver used in servicing the car and currently they are not in good terms. According to him, his driver rough used the car and stole some things in it, which took months for police to settle the matter. So he ended every contact/relationship they had together.

Another rascality, u come into d State without reporting to the State Police Command or informing the States Security Apparatus and u aren't on a Spy or Undercover mission.
Ideally d Governor should order their arrest if they cannot confirm who sent them and why they are there to the Chief Security Officer of the State.
Governor should call who he claims sent them and if the person denies or cannot be reached they should be placed under arrest.
Offcourse the CSP cannot say how many men are with him, not with all d cameras and press men present but the integrity of that mission has been blown already.

But anything goes in my dear country Nigeria. What can I say?!

That's why I can never allow driver to be responsible for servicing my car.

Hmmm...driver services vehicle. Some drivers will buy road side oil or monograde oil and pour inside engine. Make oil sha dey Inside.

Sir, just buy any 20w50 or local 5w20 oils and be using.
Car that has been serviced by driver on rentals for 1yr 6months hasn't got good service history. If u want to confirm the condition of that engine open the top cylinder, observe, take pictures and report back what u see inside there.

But on d flip side there might be hope for that engine, if car hasn't been used for d last 2months cos of d police case then effectively car has been driven for about one year cos 2020 was full of covid and curfew restrictions so no much movement until towards end of the year.

.BTW, Why do people like buying naija used car for a business aimed at providing uninterrupted flow of income.

... You guys get mind sha, a whooping 1.8 million to buy car and be running around Lagos like a rabbit when there are better businesses with good ROI.

I will give you one.

a. Food.... Your particular niche will be hinged on your type of person.

Let me extend it a bit, sharwama will generate the same returns a car on Uber will give you daily.

I can give you a financial breakdown of the equipment you will be needing for this. But, do your research, revelation is the mother of faith.
True, Uber brings in the much needed daily cash (for owners driving it) . But as an investor, putting 1.8 million to collect less than 5k daily ( which is not guaranteed, oh yes. ). is not a good business decision. ROI, ROI, ROI.....

Guy, you funny ooo. What should the Governor has done? Kindly advise.

He should Call Lagos CP to arrest those police that was sent by the IGP, you forget say IGP na CP Oga? Odumosu no go Wan fvck with him Oga nah.

If him call DSS to arrest them and gbege start, then shot gun, stray bullet hit one of the protesters and died. Na we go still say he didn't handle the issue with sense.

If you read the news, the Governor said he has spoken with the IGP and the AGF extensively inside the car before addressing the press. Any face off for that place that day no go pay anybody.

Probably the angle, the needle sits marginally off the halfway mark.
The whole job took less than an hour. Nothing complicated. Only difference is he had to go under to reach the belts.

Are you sure you didn't mistake the fuel gauge for the temperature gauge?

At the bolded is true.
This business is formality,
The rider already made a request (ordering for a ride) and as a driver u already accepted the request.
The next step should be straight to business.
Where are you!

But then we are wired differently

I like the idea of this shawarma, chips, grill and cocktail joint. But I don't have any experience or skills in that line. Shey if I employ person manager no go cut my head, or what target should I give for my daily returns just like in case of Uber?
