3 Nigerian Scholars Listed Among Most-Cited Scientists In The World. by SATANICALLY666(op): 9:40pm On Jan 04, 2022

Three Kwankwasiya scholars, Drs Aliyu Isa Aliyu, Tukur Abdulkadir Sulaiman, and Abdullahi Yusuf, have been listed among the top 2% most-cited scientists in the world.

The list, published in August 2021, was compiled by a team of researchers ed by Prof. John Loannidis at the Stanford University, California.

Using verifiable data derived from the SCOPUS database, Mr Loannidis’ team applied algorithms that take into consideration number of non-self citations, h-index, co-authorship, first authorship and a composite indicator to identify researchers whose scholarly works were most cited by their peers.

The list includes over 100,000 researchers selected among more than 8 million scientist in 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields across the globe.

Dr. Abdullahi Yusuf was born in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State. He graduated from Kano University of Science and Technology in 2010. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Firat University, Elazig, Turkey in 2019.

Dr. Tukur Abdulkadir Sulaiman was born in Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State. He graduated from Bayero University, Kano in 2009. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Firat University, Elazig, Turkey in 2019.

The funny thing about this thread are those my fellow Southerners who don't believe the news because 'it's a hausa man, and as everyone knows , Hausa people are dull'

Yet the same Hausa people who are dull are also clever enough to apparently plot to islamise NIgeria, steal the South's oil money, etc etc...

It's funny watching bigotry on this site...and mind you, it isn't directed against Hausas alone. If the guys were Yoruba or Ibo, some would also be expressing the same opinions.Apparently skull miners and drug barons aren't academic enough

(And yes, I know some people are catching cruise, or using this site as bigotry cathartic therapy...but even then)

High time we gave up this bigotry. Kudos to the three talented mathematicians for their achievement. They have done well, and brought some pride for this country.

It's surprising how gullible people are. These guys are forcing students to cite their works in articles and journals. It's a popular way of manipulating citations to make it seem as if a scholar is in high demand all over the world.
