I believe we all are aware of the details of the Magodo estate saga, so, there’s no need boring us with details anymore.

Now the reason I want us to reason together(Isaiah chapter 1) on this matter is because today it is Sanwolu handling this matter, tomorrow, it could be any of us that are here that might become governor or even the AGF, how would you handle it?

As a way of background study to Buhari’s attitude towards court judgments since he became president, I would like to chronicle the major court pronunciations and how Buhari’s govt handled them.

To the best of my knowledge, the only court orders that Buhari’s govt has disobeyed were the court orders ordering for the release of Sambo Dasuki and Elzakizaky.

Aside from those two, I don’t think I have record of this govt disobeying court orders.

Let’s mirror the major pronouncements especially from the Supreme Court.

The first major and controversial shocking judgement of the Supreme Court was declaring Hope Uzodimma of APC as the governor of Imo State and sacking Ihedioha of the PDP. This judgment was controversial because Uzodimma came 4th in election and the figures he led claim to obtain the judgment will forever remain questionable. But what happened, this judgment was swiftly obeyed.

Second, the Zamfara State judgment where the Supreme Court ruled that APC had no valid primaries in the run on to the 2019 elections and therefore its participation in the elections was null and void. This judgment was against the APC but was obeyed to the letter.

In the same vein, the Supreme Court sacked David Lyon, the APC governor-elect in Bayelsa state because of the irregularities of his deputy’s name and credentials. This judgment came on the eve of the swearing in ceremony of the governor-elect but even though the judgment was against APC, the judgment was obeyed to the letter.

Lastly, the APC has been unable to present a governorship candidate in Rivers state since 2015 through the judgments of the Supreme Court. And as painful as it is, the APC federal government led by Buhari has never disobeyed these orders.

Now why would Magodo estate judgment of the Supreme Court be different?

Why the emotional blackmail of those sent to enforce the judgment? Especially from some online elements both here on Nairaland and elsewhere?

The Supreme Court judgment might not be palatable to Lagos state govt and those who bought and built houses on the land. But Nigeria is not a banana republic and the ruling of the Supreme Court shall always be SUPREME.

Lawyers will tell you that the law is a b*tch and does not care about your emotions but facts.

The facts on ground is that the Lagos state govt acquired those pieces of land and converted to private use instead of public use as stated by the Land Use Act.

My plea to my fellow political watchers and observers is that the course of the law should be allowed to run without these sensational narratives whether by sponsored elements or the misinformed.

LASG officials shared the land btw themselves

Meanwhile, the judgement to be executed is not even over the whole Magodo, it is only those plots undeveloped as at 2012 before Supreme Court gave judgement

The court directed all parties to maintain status quo until it gives judgement but LASG still went ahead to be sharing the land amongst themselves

Rule of Law must prevail in Nigeria

The rich and powerful shall not continue to cheat and trample on the havenot

Spot on.
But people will cry blood, when I say let's smooth this matter of Omo Onile and cos' some people will think we have bad agendas.
If a state like Lagos is still having issues of buying and selling of land it speaks volume about what we neglect.

I saw how those people came out to supported themselves with their illegality, the supreme court have ruled, the needful should be done.
