Another of the reasons why the hegemony will not allow State Police to come into existence; how can the IGP send a team into a state that has a Governor without the appropriate briefing... |

Despite the constitutional flaw that gives zero powers to Governors on Security matters, Governor Olu is weak in positions that require bruteforce. If I governed a State like Lagos, this would have been a time the State Police discourse will begin, I would have deployed 1000 Amotekun Squads to that location and force the Policemen to leave on grounds of inconvenience and I will ensure that I override legally or illegally the decision of the so called Mallami who has no place in Lagos. Sometimes you love Wike for his brutish approach to issues. A man must be a man. Wetin dem wan do Sanwo Olu if he disobeys even the President. Personally I do not give a shiiit, if I gain access to Governorship, my people will be proud. Cos no one from Abuja will detect what happens in my state constitution or not. 1 Like |

colestephan86: And what happened after the Minister's speech? Did it prevent Wike from protecting his state? A state governor passed a law and the federal government (a minister) aided people to break the law and you expect the governor to remain mute like the ones being controlled from Abuja. 1 Like |

How does argument put food on our table. Lets be reasonable enough and plan how to make 2022 better in our lives. Sanwolu cant do more than what he did and he settled for that. All we needed is to give him support to perform better than what he is doing presrntlly. 2 Likes |

hakeemhakeem: That is even when a minister, Amaechi is trying to shake him Buhari is never interested in playing politics with anyone not even his political enemies unlike other presidents we’ve had in the past including even Goodluck Jonathan that sent a commissioner of Police to stop a governor from entering the government house. In fact if it were to be another president Wike should have been telling stories of how he was once a governor. 1 Like |

People like Reno are very dangerous. They are useless and all they want is the Govt collapse. They will say all sorts of rubbish just to cause chaos and some idiots will agree with him and follow him. The CSP takes orders from the IGP and not from the Governor. The Governor is a Politician and he is YES looking for peace but also playing to the press and gallery. The CSP did the right thing. He will not prempt and make any call. The Governor should make that call. Also, there is no disrespect here just clarity and both the Governor and the Police are looking for a way to resolve this amicably. However, enemies of progress like Reno "Omale" and some idiots on comments section always out for chaos and trouble will always look for the solution that will lead to anarchy. 5 Likes |

Reno here is just playing to the gallery of his mumu listeners, and ridiculing the ever gentlemanly governor Sanwolu. Sanwolu, unfortunately, is the one wrong here, and Reno wish in this case is that the governor should have booted out a federal officer who is on a legitimate assignment. Reno knows better. And the officer deserves an award for his professionalism What Reno desire is breakdown of government and chaos so he can keep writing nonsense online and wishing that pdp takes over. Reno claims he is pastor what a shame And if am a police officer and governor Woke gives me any foooooolish order I will turn him down and nothing will happen. 6 Likes |

Why is it difficult for the Lagos State Government to obey the Supreme Court judgement? Is it because the judgement favoured poor landlords or what? They said judiciary is the last hope of common man, where is the hope now? I dislike inequity, had it been such estate owns by poor landlords and government took it to court, while the judgement favoured Lagos State Government, the following day of the verdict, govt will quickly demolish buildings in the estate. Lagos State govt oppressing the poor old landlords from benefitting the fruit of the SC judgement. |

Kriss216:Nigerians are heavily hypocritical and two faced. If he had ordered as Reno is saying, by now they will be insulting him of tyranny, how APC government is high handed, how Buhari is a dictator. The same people here comparing him with wike are the people calling wike a tyrant. I see absolutely nothing uncalled for in what transpired. The only mistake he made was to tell the officer to call, he should have called the I.G immediately. He respected the CSP but that doesn't mean he is weak. Respect to others is not weakness. Lagos CP arrested some guards days ago and we insulted the police to high heavens, saying he was abusing his power. The governor did the opposite and here we are again castigating him 1 Like |

Kindledlight: You last paragraph is incorrect. Tinubu stood against OBJ and he remained a governor. What is the relevance of Same Amaechi today in Rivers politics? And where are the police officers he used in causing issues in the state? At the tail end of issues like this, the police officers involved are sacrificed to broker peace between the politicians involved. Exactly what happened to Mbu |

Saturn444:So what you are saying is that the governor should deploy forces to override a supreme court order? And you want Nigeria to be like America? No wonder some people have been saying that Nigeria isn't ripe for state police. I'm beginning to see that Nigeria is actually not ripe for state police because rogue politicians like you and woke would abuse it 1 Like |
