Not cool abeg.

Its called white wedding not African wedding. So why infuse it with your native culture?

They shouldn't have bothered doing the white wedding if they were not going to fully comply to it's culture and dress code.

By the way, Happy married life to them.
Seems it's just what fits per season person.

Originally, it was blue that was connected to purity, piety, faithfulness, and the Virgin Mary.[13] However, many people at the time believed that white was meant to symbolize virginity, and the white wedding dress became the standard symbol for innocence and romance.[14]

What is church wedding? Isn't it a white man's religion? Still belongs to the white man.
In essence, it's the church factor that makes it white.
In as much as you're right but things evolve, including culture.
There was a time the bride covers her face with a veil but it's no longer done.

This is perfect, from the church they can head straight to her father's compound for the traditional wedding and reception. Why waste money on 2 receptions on different days?

So choosing to wear ankara matetial to your church wedding is a sign courage while those that choose and want to experience the full church wedding experience are weak. undecided

Ogbeni gedifok... People you claim don't have the balls metamorphosized this very Christianity into the one that fits them and their culture perfectly reason why we have lots of protestant church in the west. While the courageous colonial slaves are still hanging on what the white man brought to them.

In actual sense, the dress code doesn't make it to be complete as you're thinking. The mean ingredients to a successful Christian/Church wedding are:

The groom and the bride who have willingly agreed to marry each other;
the parents (or representative) that consent to the marriage or who are giving their children our for the marriage ;
some witness to the marriage and finally
the officiating priest/pastor.

there you have your full graced church wedding.

there's no dress code;
the couple's can wear anything decent and come forward to the alter for their marriage to he blessed. that's it.

You are very wise. If I did white wedding, I would have worn suit (Jacket) and bride would have worn wedding gown.
I don't like white wedding, so I did traditional wedding in a big form. More interesting than white wedding. Palmi yaapa, goat meat full ground, everyone in the village confirm that day.
No pastor was officiating, they only came to flex themselves.
LOL... funny

Gbam!

White wedding is from a white man's culture and they have the attire to go with it. Even if you choose to call it church wedding, church is still the white man's religion. so must bear their culture in all forms, just like our traditional marriage where we use our traditional attire.

Got that?
he's trying to let you understand that you don't need to wear suit and white gown for your church ABI white wedding as you think.
you may think that it should be so but
there's no law or arrangement that made it so.

So far that you dressed decently, you are ok to go.
Try to get that ...
