1. Adekunle Gold – Adekunle Gold now popularly known as AG baby has hinted that his fourth studio album “ Catch Me if You Can “ will drop in February , 2022.

The talented artiste has managed to remain on top of his game despite his lack of a debut album . As in, do artistes even still release albums these days? Do they still follow that format? Albums only really made sense in the days of compact discs and cassettes when it was difficult to put out singles so you had to put all your songs on one CD then release one or two lead tracks to sell that album with the rest of your music. Albums were also the main source of revenue for most artistes then.

But now In this digital age artistes just easily put out singles via various internet platforms and make the bulk of their money via shows and endorsement deals. Imagine despite wizkid being over 10 years in the game with countless hit singles, he only has 3 full length albums till date. That should tell you everything.

I miss the days of albums though. I believe artistes were more careful with their craft and the standard of music they produced back then because if you put wack music, you don’t sell and your label drops you fast. Now it’s easier to put out music but that also makes it easier to put out nonsense. Which is why the quality of music has dropped over the years.
