This game was physical but the athleticism and speed were top notch. Better than most games in the last tournament.

In International Cup Competitions, many teams are conversatives in dier play! E.g. Italy.
In World cup matches, Many teams play cautious, boring football..

So it's not an African thing!

Cameroon was the better side & will definitely finish top of the group. I love their stamina & energy level, though not very entertaining play.

Your confusion stems from the fact that other smaller African countries are trying to compete more through development of their sports now than before, and that's not really quality because they still play crap.

You can make inferences from superb performances from teams like Egypt, Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Morocco then..
and compare now.

When they finish this current competition (I hope you will be able to watch most of the matches, as I will), then you can come back to give us an unbiased comparative analysis of the two sets of competition. If you still impressed, then I will believe you.

Check also the stadium population at each of the matches, that's how we will know if the fans are impressed or excited enough to watch their players on the field, and it is also a measure how they rate the quality of the matches.

In addition: Nigerian players in this current team lack the zeal to win this competition (as noted in their qualifying matches). So don't bet on them.
