You've made a slight error with that second line. You discarded the square root.

The sum of the first n term of a series

By definition, the relation is symmetric, because aRb implies that a^b = b^a which in turn implies that b^a = a^b that is, bra.

Also, R is reflexive because, a^a = a^a, hence aRa.

A ship 'A' steaming due north at 10 km/hr sight at noon, a second ship 'B' in a direction due east and 1⅔ km away, steaming north east at 8 km/hr. Calculate to the nearest degree the bearing of A from B at 12:15 pm.

Well done Sir. The question's from MAN Mathematics for Senior Secondary Schools, Book 2. I arrived at the same answer but the answer at the back of the textbook is different (N60.5°W). That could be a mistake from the author.

Let the square root be sqrt(a)-sqrt(b)
Continue with squaring it and equating to the original expression

a-2sqrt(ab)+b=28-10sqrt(3)

collecting like terms, we have
a+b=28................(i)
a=28-b.........(ii)
-2sqt(ab)=-10sqt(3).......(iii)

simplify (iii), ab=75..,.(iv)
sub (ii) into (iv)

you have,
28b-b^2=75
solving the equation, you get b=25 or 3
i.e when b=25, a=3 and vice-versa

hence, your final answer is 5-sqt(3) or sqt(3)-5

AEB =180-(70+60+20)=30°
BDE=90°
X=180-(90+30+20)=40°
You can't use sine rule without any given side.

Your answer is wrong.
Does that look like a right angle to you in your wildest imagination??
A mathematician solved it and solution is attached.

All the angles were solved for.
An when you sum up individual triangles, they ALL give you 180 degrees.

x is 50°

All the angles were solved for and when you sum all the angles of all the triangles in the diagram, they all give 180° by the solution below
