Tinubu’s presidential ambition a huge joke -Bode George

Peoples Democratic Party stalwart, Chief Bode George, has described the presidential ambition of All Progressives Congress leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as a huge joke.

George said this during a chat with The PUNCH on Monday while reacting to Tinubu’s decision to inform the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), of his intention to contest.

“This so-called ambition must be a huge joke. The Presidency of Nigeria is not for characters like Bola Tinubu. Look at how he mismanaged the resources of Lagos State. It is surprising that he can even dream of becoming the President of Nigeria. He is living in cuckoo land,” said George.

The former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP said Tinubu would be shocked by how things will go and how he will be double-crossed by those he is trusting.

George said the South-West had quality leaders who could produce the next President of Nigeria. He, however, said Tinubu was not one of them.

He said it would be an insult for the South-West, which is the most sophisticated region in the country, to settle for Tinubu.


George also said it was unfortunate that a hallowed ground like the Presidential Villa would be the location for Tinubu to declare his ambition.

Tinubu, who was governor of Lagos State, informed Buhari that he would want to contest in next year’s election.

The former governor lamented that he was tired of being a kingmaker and it was time to actualise his dream.

Any living thing that is wishing Nigerians OLD CREATURE as president after the terrible political mistake of 2015 deserves death sentence by hanging. I will only advocate for a young and vibrant aspirant from any part of the country as president. Why are some Nigerian youths so emptied? The only joke I see here is Bode George. An ex-convict who has never won any election in his life should not be trash talking the ambition of strong politician who has won election repeatedly by himself and through others.

Bode George is an old fool with no shame. At his age, one expect him to speak like an elder and not like an idiot. Hatred and jealousy has eaten up his dark soul. I keep wondering if there are no elders in his family to call him to order and save him from ridiculing himself publicly in this manner.

Our brothers will never learn from us. When one of our own signifies interest in a position, we all step back from slandering or blackmailing him. When he clinches it, we can then resume the yabbing. Instead of the SW to forge a common front and support their own, they are already insulting, backbiting and ridiculing their own later. Much later, they will say Arewa is cheating them whereas they are the ones ridiculing themselves. Politics is about compromise and dropping ambitions for the common good. Olabode George has one mission in politics - to make sure that Bola Tinubu does not become the president.

To be honest, that should be the goal of every rational Nigerian. Our ancestors should go, rest and have their wives take care of them. Buhari has already done enough damage.

We should have vibrant and brilliant people in government if Nigeria will survive the mess it is in today.
