Igbo fought civil war out of sentiment, says NIROH president, Dr. Paul Okoye.

• PDP scribe Anyanwu, raises the alarm over plots to discredit him.

President General of Ndigbo Royal Heritage Worldwide (NIROH), Dr. Paul Okoye, has stated that the Igbo fought the Nigerian civil war out of sentiment, but its politicians can not realise their quest for Nigeria’s president in 2023 through sentiment or deceit.

Speaking in Umuahia, Abia State on the sidelines of the NIROH conference for 2023 general elections tagged: Igbo President or Interest, at the weekend, he said the Igbo ought to eschew ethnic campaign, work hard and invest strategically to actualise the president of Igbo extraction.

He stated that the Umuahia conference was convened to strategise on the best way to actualise the quest for an Igbo person as the next president of the country in 2023.

Okoye said Ndigbo had not come to terms with the reality of their existence partly because they have never accepted that they were defeated in the war, adding that time has come for them to come to face the realities of their existence and try other alternatives.

“The North is static, while the West and the East are dynamic. Whoever aligns with the North rules the country. We did it before and we can do it again. Suffice to say that we have the West to checkmate in our quest for Aso Rock.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo gave the West their share. Goodluck Jonathan gave the South-South their share. President Muhammdu Buhari is serving the share of the North. So it is only natural that the Igbo get 2023. But the sad story is that we stand to lose our chances in 2023, if we fail to understand that power can not be acquired on a platter of gold,” he added.

Ojukwu messed up but it was wise of him to apologize to Nigeria how stupid he was. Lamidi cownu is currently towing that lane and he's been caged like ewúrẹ́ ìyá àlákẹ.

Out of sentiment that more than 3k of Ndigbo was killed in the North?
or the sentiment that the cowards in Lagos point out Igbo civilians for Nigerian military to kill?
Or the sentiment of anti-Igbo mutiny in the Military?
Or the sentiment of the killing of all Igbo passengers at the national Airport?

Ok
So what would have been done about the organized ,senseless killings of Igbos in Kaduna,Kano and all over the North?

The war was more than a battle for territory,it was to stamp our stand on intimidation and oppression.
It was well achieved.
The war would have been adverted if some people didn't bring Military matter into the misdt of civilians.

Indeed we fought at least to show we aren't cowards. You can't conquer us just like you did to Ilorin. If Ilorin was part of Igbo land that was taken forcefully, the Igbo man will not rest until he gets it back because he is not a coward!

The fact that Igbos fought the war is the only thing that is keeping the Fulani from sitting on all our faces. You guys should be thankful that the Igbos fought that war.

I hated that civil war I swear. That was igbos biggest mistake it’s the only thing I wish I can erase from our history.

When I heAr some facts about it I begin to ask myself if Ojukwu was really a hero, I heard that sometimes in the war when there’s no weapons he would bundle hundreds of Igbo youths with cutlass and stick send them to the battle front to fight against an army with rifles and ak47 if that wasn’t enough when they started running out of matured soldiers they turned to kids as soldiers, he was loosing the war but refused to give up despite all advice, men who tried to go against him was executed, but instead kept sending people to their death until he ran away finally

With the way you guys continue to mock and insult your hosts, it might repeat itself again. undecided

After leaders of Ibo extraction killed leaders from other regions, they celebrated it to the point of making a brand of bread to further mock your hosts.

That's "How to get killed" 101.

You guys have started to tow that line of action again and other regions are isolating and watching you guys already.......... again.

Oteletual is talking of "platter of gold". Let me give you example in your backyard.

See Enugu state, they started from Nkanu - Chimaroke. Ngwo - Chime. Nsukka - Ugwuanyi. That is justice. If they are to drag it, who is Ugwuanyi to smell power in Enugu ? But the state is very peaceful and orgernised due to equal right and justice in power sharing. Who told you such peaceful arrangment cant work in federal level ? That is why fool!sh elders deserve no pity.
See foo! making diparaging comment about Ojukwu who sacrifised his life to defend his people from being wiped out.

No problem. Miles will be counted after the race

The odds were against Biafra winning that war, he should have opted for dialogue to solve the impass.

To win in that war, Biafra needed to have advantages over the interest of Nigeria like greater financial resources, greater population, more advanced military Technology and more local & International allies.

Igbos owe no one any explanation for fighting to survive. If they had folded their hands and allowed gowon and his fulani masters to ride them roughshod unopposed, they would have established several fulani Emirates in Enugu, Imo, Abia and enslaved Ndigbo just like they did in yorubaland.

Let that fear of the Igbo man continue to exist in the mind of the fulani and his slaves. At least it ensures mutual respect and reminds them they do not have a monopoly of madness when push comes to shove.

Lie upon lies, instead of them to accept their mess up, apologize, and move on like others, they r busy twisting facts.

If you talk about how greed make them planned ,and killed leaders from other regions, and spare their own, they will tell u their people were killed in the North before 1966, lies upon lies....one of there own is telling them the truth, they r insulting him... MA awon loun o jare

All these happened because ibo leaders in conjunction with their boys in the military planned a coup and mercilessly killed political leaders of other regions except iboland.....NO SINGLE IBO LEADERS WAS KILLED ON 15 JANUARY 1966

If it had been the other way round....ibos too would act the way northerners did with the revenge coup. Okoye said it all when he said
"Okoye said Ndigbo had not come to terms with the reality of their existence partly because they have never accepted that they were defeated in the war, adding that time has come for them to come to face the realities of their existence and try other alternatives.

So Biafra was an Eboe enterprise intended to steal the land and resources of Eastern minorities.
If Eboes were the only victims why drag them into it if not for greed and covetuousness

Ojukwu, as soldier should have known that the war will be lost from the onset, because if he had any sense at all and value Igbo/eastern lives, he should have seen it coming at Aburi. At the aburi conference, it was northern, western and Midwest regions against eastern region. You can’t win a war when you’re outmanned and outgunned.

The truth about that war hasn’t been told to Ndigbo yet, because if it had been told, many Igbo would start to see Ojukwu in a different light as someone who was careless with eastern/Igbo lives. Today, the SS does not want to hear anything about Biafra because of the unnecessary deaths it brought to them and it’s time Ndigbo understand that Biafra is death and has never brought any good to Igbo.

Liars, apart from igbos there are several people from SS that supports biafra.
I'm one of them.
I also know so many akwa cross people that do so.
If there is a referendum between Nigeria and biafra, most of ssner will gladly choose biafra.
