I just had my interview. It was a success. But I was told to bring the original copy of my birth certificate and submit at the DHL office alongside my passport. I was also told that once I submit them my visa will be ready for collection in 10 days. Will I say I was foolish to have submitted the photocopy? Lol. Anyways I’m excited. Thank you all. Whew! What a journey.

Hello All. My brother's fiance (US citizen) filed for a fiance visa on September 20 for my brother. Receipt was acknowledged on September 23, 2021 and a Receipt number (starting with WAC....) was sent via text message. Till date, no case number or anything. We used the receipt to track on this website, - https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do - and "Case was received" message acknowledging the receipt of the petition was displayed.

Is this normal? How soon does it take to get a case number or is the receipt number the same as case number? January 23, 2022 will make the 4th month and nothing has been heard. Can someone with a similar experience please responsd.

Who is going to notify us when case will be ready ?? Is it USCIS Case Tracker app that has stated case approved that will still show wether case is ready ?? Or NVC it’s self will send a mail to show if status is ready !??

covid 19 really messed the k1 timeline up, pre-pandemic approval that usually takes 3-4 months now takes 7+ months, please hang in there your approval will come

Hello guys, I have been following this thread for a while. I have few questions to ask, My fiancée and I are already engaged and we filled for k1 petition last year, so we’re just waiting for the approval. However, myself and my fiancée plan to have 2 weddings, one in the US and one in Nigeria. pls I need someone to enlighten me, as we’re about to go ahead with our big wedding in Nigeria first!(probably after we’d be done with the K1 visa interview) but not before leaving Nigeria. As I want us to get the Nigeria celebration done with. Then we will be having the ceremonial one in the US as per the K1 regulations. I would like to know, if going ahead with the Nigeria wedding won’t affect our K1 application in anyway, whenever the case is ready, and during interview and entering the US? Of course the registry will be in the US! Thank y’all ���

My petition is still in USCIS can I change my interview location from Lagos embassy to another US embassy in Qater , cos I will be working in qater.. Pls I will like to know how to change it

Thanks you bro ..You have to wait till the case get to NVC after it has been approved by the USCIS...


Then you can submit an inquiry to NVC and request they change the embassy to Qatar..

But Take Note: You will need to upload a valid quatar residence permit to the NVC

Hi guys, I just got an RFE after waiting for 15 months and they are pretty much asking for same documents I already provided. What other evidences can one provide for plans to get married (I already submitted letters saying we plan to get married as soon as she join me in the states) proof of continuous communication and how do I get WhatsApp messages and call logs, since we face time every day. See below the RFE. Yours responses are highly appreciated. Thanks

15 months? This is definitely outside the normal processing window which is at currently 7 - 9.5 months. Did you receive RFEs previously concerning this case? I think what is needed from you is explicitly stated in the attached letter. Provide evidence of communication when the relationship started, provide evidence that either of you transferred money to each other, bank statement should suffice and provide an affidavit sworn by at least 2 people who can testify that they know when/how your relationship commenced, maybe people from where either of you reside (this one is a low hanging fruit). You can print the statement of your phone bill showing call log/data used for facetime as well. Good luck!

Pls I have been able to fill my DS-160 form and submitted and been sent my confirmation page. But my question now is that is she going to fill ds-160 as well from her end ??pls I need urgent response on this pls.

Pls house, I think I’m the one delaying myself on this process. Pls after getting case number and invoice number can some one proceed to fill the Ds-160 Form ?? Cos when I tried logging my case number and invoice number on to track my case it’s showing me to go and fill out Ds-160 form.
