How is it possible that this was done by humans? There's something mysterious about it. It's too perfectly carved out. It couldn't have been done by humans
the Egyptian did more of this. Pyramid. It was a treasure back then.

What's the significance of this cross sign we christians use? If the Romans had used a gun to kill Jesus, will the symbol of Christianity be a gun?

Just wondering

It's the symbol of His sacrifice.

That church would take not less then 100years with today modern tools.

The interior would be the hardest and take longer.

Not just that but to believe this was done when man had not invented power tools for granite cutting of this magnitude?? No documented writing of when and how it was made even though we've been keeping records of things atleast 4000 years ago?

It's the cross on which Christ was crucified.

It's our symbol, the symbol or logo of your faith.

With modern Machines/equipment, with all resources put together, they'll construct that in a year.

That was a Christian Church with Christ like character until European hijacked the Christian, modulate it and corrupt the Gospel of God n imported in into our deepest throats.

Removed Jesus with bears to the bears-less suit wearing Jesus. He was Eesu, Iaesau, or Jesu but they turned him to Jesus.

That failed his practice of Love, harmony. They robbed us, stole our resources, killed us n enslaved us. They forgot that it was our forefathers that thought them about Jesu.

They turned Words of God to assembly words, the Bible frown against cheating, robbery, homosexuality and other vices. They repackaged the names and called it colonization, human right.

The church is located in a mountainous region in the heart of Ethiopia, some 645 km from Addis Ababa, and what is interesting about the church, it was carved downward into a rock.

The church was carved from a type of limestone called tufa and the sole building material used in the structure.

It has been dated to the late 12th century AD, and thought to have been constructed during the reign of King Gebre Mesqel Lalibela, of the late Zagwe dynasty.

Some say it was built with the help of the Crusaders, the Knights Templar of which there were 10 other similar structures representing the eleven tribes of Israel bar the Levites and the Ark of the Covenant is likely hidden in the vaults of the one yet discovered till date ..... if I can get my story straight...

This are one Of the first civilization in time past. People cut rock and make carving and it started in Egypt.

This is a huge challenge for our generation. We need to find means of carving rock at precise.

Nobody knows the equipment used to carve or construct the church or how long the construction took.

No one knows for sure if the Church of Saint George was completed in Lalibela’s lifetime, or if it was constructed after he died in an attempt to honor his legacy.

The cross-shaped stone church has been a popular site for Christian pilgrims since it was first constructed many centuries ago.

Lalibela’s sunken network of stone churches appear impossible to access to the untrained eye, but a keen observer will note that there is a small man-made entrance that grants access to the holy stone structures.

Countless Christian pilgrims dressed in white have flocked to the Church of Saint George to pray and express their commitment to their unwavering Christian faith.

Many years ago, st George church became UNESCO world heritage site.

C'mon. The perimeter is less than 100 feet square.
With modern robotic drilling and rock cutting CNC equipment the whole thing can be finished in a matter of days.
The typical TBM's that carve out subways, storm drains and other underground infrastructure in developed countries can typically do between 50 and a 100 metres of tunneling a day. What is 100 feet.

Did you know?

Hundreds of tourists travel to Europe every year to have a glimpse of monuments from the middle ages.
Can't we do same in Africa?

The Great Sphinx of Giza_Egypt
Leptis Magna in_Libya

Sadly, almost nothing remains of that Benin wall.

The Cross Signifies the Sacrifice of Christ for the Redemption of Mankind

It couldn’t be a gun because the Period of the Sacrifice had been predetermined by God himself

and it was when there were no guns

Jesus had to hang on the Cross as Prophesied to take our Sins and Curses away

Also the Cross signifies a place where a decision must be made

For example when you travel any road (life) wherever you meet a Cross in the road (junction) you must

make a decision that will determine your destination

It is the same with the Cross of Christ
