Amotolongbo:Yeah it will increase productivity If direct primary is added and signed permanently into law. For now it is just a random process that is implemented based on random decisions which is why they may choose to use it at a time and then use indirect when they feel. It is necessary. |

Amotolongbo:Small children wey get sense pass old mama, no be juju be dat. where you bn dey when una mate dey go school early?. I wouldn't know the basis for your arguments if you have next to zero understanding about a subject matter. The electoral act already recognizes the process of electing party's candidates which could either be direct, indirect or consensus. Inec & the party would have to communicate the process and an inec official would be present at the venue to validate the process. APC had their candidates in the person of Buhari. Every party member unanimously endorsed him as the party flagbearer with no opposition. What does that tell you if you had a brain to comprehend. However, in a party primaries, there shall be two or more contesting aspirants on the ballot. A direct or indirect primaries could as well end up being a consensus if all contestants agreed to adopt a single candidate at the last minute. -erase the dot |

EraseTheDot:The problem here isn’t you, the problem is Nairaland which brings pigeon and fowl together in one cage. Well, it is also good to engage foolish people so as to appreciate wisdom. Continue serenading me with your ignorance and stupidity. Below are the results of the APC direct primary election for the presidential election. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2018/09/apc-presidential-primary-buhari-gets-2-9m-votes-in-kano-state/amp/ https://dailytrust.com/results-from-apc-presidential-primaries https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/apc-presidential-primary-buhari-wins-in-katsina/%3famp The onus lies on you to prove the results were not real. |

Amotolongbo:Listen up and open your brain to enlightenment. If you're not informed, you'd be deformed. My cute little dog is not as hardened to as you are. You're proving to be less intelligent than a dog, obtuse, shallow and above all, unamenable. You provided a link of direct primaries, kudos, at least, you go school small. But here in your understanding comes in limited capacity. After states' direct primaries, the National Convention is the highest party structure to adopt a party candidate. Which was why I earlier pointed you to the fact that the party "ratified" the candidacy of Buhari. It was at the National Convention of APC that Buhari was adopted as the party's consensus candidate, which was then forwarded to inec for validation. Sometimes when you argue, do not allow your fingers get anxiously faster than your brain. Just an advice that works. -erase the dot |

Amotolongbo:I now know why you rush to occupy FTC on the FP. You know quite well that FTC usually makes dumb people popular. Dumbassry has become an habit that you no longer can hide it. Having shown you that the National Convention adopted a consensus agreement on Buhari's ticket, yet you floundering like a fat drunk. Is there any direct primaries at the national convention?. Maybe you'd show me after the dose of mkpurummiri is cleared off your light brain. -erase the dot |

Mention countries that practice compulsory direct primary in the world? The largest democracies in the world; India and USA don't because it has huge challenges. |

Direct primaries indeed. The process will be rubbished just like PDP did in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7exIeWOYt4 |

Toks2008:Direct primaries is the heaviest scam in Nigeria APC tried and we know the result. Andy Uba the APC candidate scored 230K plus votes to emerge the party candidate but couldn't score up to 50k votes in the general elections. Even a child knows that the APC direct primaries was cooked and doctored to satisfy one candidate. The same thing in FCT in 2019 primaries. One famous politician score 1.4 million votes in a Local Government in Abuja, a place that has less than 100K registered voters. Please, OP stop promoting what you don't know! |

They gave us BVN, NIN yet that's not enough for us to vote the candidates of our own choice. But they can charge vat in those accounts . Now to do direct primaries where we can just join one party and vote the candidates of our choice. They are still interested in imposition and Godfatherism which has killed us thus far |

And it will be abused like what happened in APC Anambra state primary where a candidate ascribed himself an imaginary 230,000 votes cos the number of the party members are assumed to be large which can not be verified but with delegates in indirect primary ,the number is capped and you cannot just write any figure you want . |

Toks2008:Ur opinion is trash and shitty, am sorry for beimg blunt. Direct primaries won't and can't stop godfatherism, if it was to stop godfatherism ambode wouldnt have lost his primary election to some unknown sanwo olu. No matter how we paint direct over indirect, this is Nigeria where anything and everything goes. The only advantage it has over indirect is, the electorates will be quick to benefit from electoral funds rather than wait till election day when its constitutional for votes buying. Thugs will be paramount also in this phase just to scuttle some candidate's chance of winning. |

| Re: (Opinion) The Positive Effect Of Open Direct Primaries In Nigeria Democracy. by PHIPEX(m): 9:17pm On Jan 16, 2022 |
Israeljones:1. If you make it compulsory the political parties must change their own constitutions to reflect it. This will take over a year to happen and undermine 2023 election 2. It has never stopped electoral fraud, eg Anambra APC primary election 3. INEC does not have the fund to conduct such across the country for over 80political parties 4. The parties don't have a reliable register of members, every tom dick and harry can still claim membership and vote 5. Anyone with enough money power can still bribe his way through and win. The biggest money power wins. 6. The countries we are emulating are yet to make it compulsory because they know the challenges involved. |

Toks2008:Did you see the YIAGA townhall meeting on NTA this evening? Jega said political parties do not have a register with which INEC can conduct direct primaries. There is also the issue of time as we are roughly 1 year away from election. Direct primary has to removed for now to allow the rest of the bill scale through, hopefully the next dispensation will make direct primary a thing. |
