It's fine to say yes but double check if the F1 is still on good standing. If she used your name as her sponsor, she had probably put down your full name too.

Hello,
My mother’s interview was canceled at the start of COVID-19, I was checking the appointment page last year and I saw 2022 January date and I picked. The ds 160 I initially used before Covid is what is still there, does she need a new ds 160 or she’s good?

You may need to fill a new one because employment date has changed, intended date of travel has changed too but make sure you have at least 72hrs to interview date.

There is nothing you can do. What I am trying to say is that after counciling you where supposed to add both of them together for another appointment.

· You are a resident of Nigeria.
· You were not refused on your last U.S. visa application.
· You have never been arrested or convicted of a crime and you have never been deported from or denied entry to the United States.

AND

· You are renewing a B1/B2 visa.
· Your previous visa was issued in Nigeria.
· Your previous visa was the same visa category as the visa you are applying for now.
· You have a valid visa or one that expired in the past 48 months and can submit that visa with your application.
· Your previous visa was not lost, stolen, cancelled, or revoked.

If you meet ALL the above criteria AND are scheduled for a non-immigrant visa interview between the 18th and 25th of January at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, please follow these instructions.

Bring all the following to the U.S. Consulate in Lagos at 07:00-10:00 AM on 12 January 2022 - IN PERSON.

· A completed DS-160
· A printed GT Bank (MRV) receipt for your visa fee
· Your passport containing the expired non-immigrant visa (if that passport is expired, a current valid passport is also required)
· A passport photograph meeting these requirements
· Appointment Confirmation Letter

Please note: If applying as a family each member of your family must meet the above criteria. Any family member who does not meet the criteria must attend their normally scheduled interview.

Please I will like to apply for visiting visa to the USA. Although, I was denied in 2016 or so when I was still single but now I’m married with a kid and will like to try again.

Also I have a blood brother who is a citizen in USA, will that increase my chance.

This matter of interview waiver for persons with expired Visas is becoming confusing. I did get in touch with the US consulate in Abuja yesterday and below was there response:

Ah. At least they're aware of it, even if it seems they're only offering it to people that have close interview dates. I will reach out to them as well, also hopefully it expands to include more people in the coming months.

Alright lady. I really hope they go back to drop box and extend to persons with expired visas up to 72months as I read in a portion of their website. Mine expired January 2020. Whe whole of 2020/21 was plagued with COVID.

PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME GET A DATE IN APRIL OR MAY Been trying since October last year

Since you don't seem to be able to understand simple English, I emailed both Lagos and Abuja embassies to ask if there are any plans to open separate interview waiver applications the way it works in other countries (and the way that dropbox apps used to work).

You are making a dumb enquiry. They will read your email and use it to catch work cruise. You are asking them to extend visa renewal application privileges enjoyed by fairly law abiding countries to a huge bunch of visa abusing fellow countrymen.

You have to say that you have a brother there in the form .No prevarications .But don't make it seem like your sole purpose is just to visit your brother as that could give you away as an intending immigrant. You have to make plans to visits places like tourist attractions there and also see your brother . That is a genuine purpose for visit.
