The coaches in question were built by a Spanish company in America . I believe there were plans by Amaechi at some point to get the Chinese to open something like that in Nigeria.

Do not try to make it into a bigger deal that it is

Well if it is truly high speed train,
It can't be used for intra city transport especially in a small city ( landmass) like Lagos. The bus stops are not far from each other and the train need to stop frequently.

It what is the speed? Because high speed train should not be less than 250km/hr.

I hope it is confirmed before bringing it in.

Road and Railways are not the same! Does U.S utilize railway like China does? U.S uses more of highway system....China is the country that truly utilizes passenger railway transport than any other country in the world.
Which project is the Chinese not doing for lagos? Name it! So why turn around to go the way of U.S now? Why now? All because of 2023?
There is obviously political undertones to this move. Buying rail cars from U.S? Laughable!

Oga the project is going nowhere so stop deceiving yourself, if the project was going somewhere it will be cheaper and more efficient to use Chinese coaches ..road and rail are not the same oga ..Rails work with Gauges and it's better to have a track built for a train than search for a train to fit a track ...meanwhile your APC govt has bought trains for this same project in 2011 so please where are they ? You people keep deceiving yourself

It wasn't Buhari that revoked the project. It was Group Captain Gbolahan Mudashiru that
revoked it because it was a Lagos State project. He said his government wanted to re-award
the project to a MORE COMPETENT company.

I have an African Concord Magazine of early 1985 [just before Ibrahim Babangidas
gang overthrew General Buhari] where Gbolahan Mudashiru took responsibility for
cancelling the Metroline project that we were all looking forward to.


If I can scan the magazine, I will upload it so people can see that it was Gbolahan Mudashiru
that cancelled the project.
