Conceptually you have not addressed why the coaches/carriages must come from the same country
The British built rail over a hundred years ago today there are trains here built by companies from different countries

That road and rail are not the same is obvious it does not mean anything

Anyway

The coaches in question were built by a Spanish company in America . I believe there were plans by Amaechi at some point to get the Chinese to open something like that in Nigeria.

Do not try to make it into a bigger deal that it is

There is no logic in the thinking that coaches must come from the same country as those who laid the track

Non Chinese companies like Bombardier are doing business in China supplying trains
CHINA IMPORTS TRAIN CARS
my brother don't mind him...even the city of San Francisco railway was built by China

1. Breakdown GDP of Lagos for you? What is Google for?
2. Has there ever been a time Lagos state hasn't had d capacity to generate self sustaining IGR? Yes. Before Tinubu became Governor.... Lagos IGR was ~#500m a month; Tinubu upped it to #14B a month......

What does "the Lagos leadership in all facets..." entail?

What architecturing did tinubu carry out in that regard?

Pls bear in mind that your question "Who is the architect?" was linked to your comment that "Tinubu responsible for the progress of Lagos." So how is Tinubu responsible for d progress of Lagos or how is d architect behind d progress of Lagos?

Good job to Governor Sanwo-Olu on this
Meanwhile, my Igbo brothers in the yeastern potopoto republic of Nigeria will always be blaming Buhari and Tinubu everyday but can't hold their corrupt Governors for incompetence and failing to embark on some fantastic social economic developmental projects like these in their states

Really great stuff, I for one cannot wait for the completion of the Lagos rail line project maybe it will finally bring sanity to Lagos roads.

But I have one question bothering me, why did the initial American State cancel the use of the train and engage in such deep court case over a useful train?
Anybody knows why?
The reason: A democratic party governor signed the deal, but when a Republican governor succeeded, the deal was cancelled and the company sued the state. The state later paid USD 50 million as damages and still lost the trades

Well if it is truly high speed train,
It can't be used for intra city transport especially in a small city ( landmass) like Lagos. The bus stops are not far from each other and the train need to stop frequently.

It what is the speed? Because high speed train should not be less than 250km/hr.

I hope it is confirmed before bringing it in.
Your expertry only ends on Nairaland. You don't know more than Sanwo-Olu and the experts in the transport sector that went to Milwaukee with him.

How would this train rail past Yaba? All those women selling on it would be crushed.

There are so many things that need to be in place before this can be implemented. Even though we all know that even 2030, this would not have been achieved
The Lagos Rail system is an infrastructure project enshrined in the Lagos State Development Plan (LSDP) which is being managed by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA). The railway equipment including electric power, signalling, rolling stock, and fare collection equipment will be provided by the private sector under a Concession Contract. LAMATA is responsible for policy direction, regulation, and infrastructure for the network.

The section of the network, Phase of the project are both Red and Blue Line which is currently attained almost 100% completion while Phase I (the Blue Line to run from Marina to Mile 2) was initially planned to open in 2021. However, the State Government recently announces that the Blue and Red Lines will open in December 2022.

Contrary to insinuation that Lagos Rail project will run on Federal government rail track is not correct. New rail platform is nearly completed for the take off of the lagos Rail project.

High-speed rail U.S.
The United States has zero. The fastest rail system in the U.S. is the Amtrak Acela Express along the Northeast Corridor (NEC), with speeds of up to 150 miles per hour but with averages around 66 mph. ... Japan is home to the first high-speed system, known as Shinkansen, or "bullet train," which began in 1964.

Road and Railways are not the same! Does U.S utilize railway like China does? U.S uses more of highway system....China is the country that truly utilizes passenger railway transport than any other country in the world.
Which project is the Chinese not doing for lagos? Name it! So why turn around to go the way of U.S now? Why now? All because of 2023? cheesy
There is obviously political undertones to this move. Buying rail cars from U.S? Laughable!
What informed that choice?

Oga the project is going nowhere so stop deceiving yourself, if the project was going somewhere it will be cheaper and more efficient to use Chinese coaches ..road and rail are not the same oga ..Rails work with Gauges and it's better to have a track built for a train than search for a train to fit a track ...meanwhile your APC govt has bought trains for this same project in 2011 so please where are they ? Our brothers from that side will not be happy with this because they believe Tinubu ( who has never served as a minister or president) stole their generational money to develop Lagos state. Lagos state leads while other states follow. We have only 2 states in Nigeria
1. Lagos and
2. Others including Abuja argue it with your last strength.

This is one of the FALSE STORIES that have been circulating in the public space for years now
and has been used as a political tool to attack that man. This is because people don't pay
attention to historical and daily events.

It wasn't Buhari that revoked the project. It was Group Captain Gbolahan Mudashiru that
revoked it because it was a Lagos State project. He said his government wanted to re-award
the project to a MORE COMPETENT company.

I have an African Concord Magazine of early 1985 [just before Ibrahim Babangidas
gang overthrew General Buhari] where Gbolahan Mudashiru took responsibility for
cancelling the Metroline project that we were all looking forward to.

If I can scan the magazine, I will upload it so people can see that it was Gbolahan Mudashiru
that cancelled the project.

Hope this helps.

I beg to differ but the articles from the link below, seems to suggest otherwise, Gov Mudashiru, was initially favorably disposed towards the project but had to capitulate due to pressure from above:
