I'm surprised u liked the last door slide . It was installed for my mum house but she saw it during the xmas period and totally disliked the door as its not fanciful nor shiny .
What's special about it as she is insisting on removing it

It actually looks like those hand crafted hard wood doors that cost up 500k to 1m. I like the natural feel of woods on buildings. Those hand crafted heavy doors fabricated here are very expensive and are usually heavy the way I want. But the prices are pretty dam high. This already made ones for turkey posted here are cheaper.

Most Nigerians, as your mum, won't like that type because it is not shiny with lots of gold plated colours. I like them conservative and natural in appearance. I like the feel and look of wood finishes a lot. Be it tiles, doors, TV panels or walls. Natural hard wood finishes are expensive but stands out.

That's good, Umuahia is a very nice city but without a central building materials market. I usually buy all my building materials from around that major junction called Gate area.

It's located at the boundary between abia state and Imo State.... I forgot what they call the place....
But if ur project is inside town better but at umuahia/Umudike - Ikot ekpene Road..

Do they hv nice tiles like lagos ? Nice internal doors and what's the price difference ? Is it much . Kindly help me so i can make the best decision.

am not condemning the workmen from that side in anyway but go with your men from lagos... Had two experience in umuhaia and arochukwu getting a good workmen was hard... Plus the charges was something else..

And the finishing was nothing to write about..

I quiet agree, those wooden doors look like turkey doors and are very lovely...
They are as soft and smooth as breast when touched.... But try to hit it.... As hard as rock, and very heavy..
I hear they are bullet proof too... Just that they are damn expensive...

in term of development I think that city is way behind compare to the like of awka and Enugu..

Umuahia is a new capital. Awka has had an aggressive development because of the type of people who come from the state. Heavyweights all of them. Enugu is way older, a former regional capital and well planned by Michael Okpara and Akanu Ibiam, Emeka Ojukwu and others.

A quick question Ma, how do you navigate the stock market because it seems that field is not for the faint hearted.

2021 was bad and extremely bad for stock holders with most stocks falling as low as 75% from their ATH, I bought JMIA at around $50 and same Jmia is $9, several other tech/health related stocks, so how do one navigate the stock market to maximize profit and also minimize losses because it's been hell since 2020.

2) I believe in one way or the other, we all have something to contribute to Nigeria development which involves but not limited to REAL ESTATE and good houses to encourage development, if people in diaspora refuse to invest back home by building quality houses in their villages, local governments and states, how will most of these places develop? Reason why SOUTH WEST have been tagged the brown roof region.




Even if we attain other countries citizenship, we will always remain A NIGERIAN.

Aba to Umuahia isn't that far...choice of transportation i am sure would be multiple to choose from.i do not know anything about pricing at all but wouldn't be difficult to find out when you try out one or two shops at Faulks Road.

There is usually a metal plate inserted in the middle and then covered with hard wood. The customer decides if he wants the bullet proof type or not.

I take my trusted hands with me anywhere I go. I can always hire laborers from the local market.

Last time I was in Enugu, I went one workshop to observe how they work,a job that a laborer will finish within a day, someone was doing it for two days stretch and wasn't even bothered. I asked them why and they told me they're not "Nnewi people who love money".
