It's like calling a senior police officer when arrested by Lasma for an offence committed. Mr. Madu should have known better. Its Canada not Nigeria cool
The person he called said he didn't coerce him in anyway.. What is now the problem

Canada is not Nigeria where one phone call to the police chief wipes out your traffic ticket. This is a lesson.

This is not necessary!!!.

They should wait and allow proper investigation. Stand with him on what ground??

The man goofed big time. He should not have called the Police Chief under whatever circumstances. Those guys messed him up big time.

He should have paid the $300 traffic fine and move on. Nobody would have heard about the incidence. But as a Nigerian, he went ahead to call the police chief to complain that his boys fined him. The same way Nigeria's big men and government officials behaves towards law enforcement agencies.

The $300 fine pain him sha!

You are going to need professional help to function as a normal human being.
Life is way bigger than your small tribalistic mindset.
I am sure you don't know what the topic of discussion is all about but quick to jump in with your tribalistic and ignorant opinion.

Madu was wrong to call the chief of police when he had a pending traffic ticket.
This is not Nigeria where our politicians get away with almost anything.
The only people that have the right to complain are members of his constituents in Edmonton who voted for him.
When Madu was first made the Minister of justice, i heard him on radio defending the police and saying racism does not exist in the police force imand trying to toe the party line and please the racist rednecks who gave him the position in the first place.

This all was happening during the George Floyd march in Calgary.

Now he is complaining of being racially profiled simply because he is at the receiving end.
When others complained about similar treatments from the police , he was quick to shut them down.

As an Igbo guy, I honestly have no sympathy for Kelechi Madu.

I see people here saying this is not Nigeria, if you read the article well, you will find out that he wasn't accused of any interference and if that was the case he would have been sacked immediately, however for the sake of public records investigations will take place.

However
We should note that before the incidence there was a racial issue he was advocating for a black minority group against the government and he said it looked like he was under surveillance because of that.

Verdict
It could be political for fighting against the government and taking sides with the black minority group...

He doesn't have issues with the government though. He himself works for the government. The minority issue was with Lethbridge police. Just a police agency that belongs to the City of Lethbridge and not the Government of Alberta.

Oyinbo can't tell the difference between a dark skinned Ghanaian and a light skinned Nigerian. All they see is the black skin.
