For a 1-year program, you get a postgraduation work permit (PGWP) of 1year.

For 2-year program, you get a PGWP of 3 years.

If you spend 2 years for a program that ideally takes a year, you may still get PGWP of 1 year because your school would write 1 year on your letter of program completion.

You can do police clearance for 5K or less.

Hello everyone.
Thankful for this platform.
finally all the piece of my student visa journey is finally making sense .
it’s been a roller coated trying to find schools with specialization in Human Resources or management. They all require gmat or gre and I’m trying to save cost lol.
Please what’s the disadvantage of a 1 year program to a two year program. I found some management masters program but it’s 1 year .
the employment relations I applied for at MUN is 1 year but can be completed in two years but it’s one year work permit me I’ll get.

also, I’ll like to find out the following. Would appreciate it if someone replies biko.
A police officer told me it’s 70k for the police clearance certificate. Biko what’s the price .

Good morning everyone,
Please, i want to know if applying to a 2yr program at a college that costs CAD 15,000 p/yr is better than a 4yr program at a university that costs CAD 11,000 p/yr in terms of finances.
I want to study computer science at a UG level and i'm looking for a way to reduce expenses. thanks.

Although your case is dicey, I can only suggest that you let an Immigration lawyer handle this for you. It doesn't guarantee you'd not get a ban but it reduces the odd.

Hello everyone …

Anyone here studying masters in mechanical engineering at university of Saskatchewan??
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Bankowner: 1:26pm On Jan 29, 2022
The decision is yours to make depending on your financial capacity. The certificate you get for two-year College programs in Canada is Graduate Diploma but you're guaranteed to get a job though at low level.

My agent is here in Canada and he got me into Mohawk College for one of such programs, you can google the school if you want and see all the programs they offer around computer science and cost as an International student.

If you're looking at meeting the September 2022 (Fall) intake, you should start the process already. I got in for the 2021 Winter which started this January and my application commenced May 2021 after I was offered admission.

And I must say this, you should pray. A lot of people with the right documents and hefty bank statements still get rejected. I met some at VFS Global in Lekki in November last year. This is not to discourage you.

The refusal mail I got indicated due to competitive GPA.

Sorry about that. Try other schools if your last two years is above 4.2/5. You may want to avoid top schools in each province. Ontario has a lot of mid to low ranked graduate program.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Bankowner: 2:14pm On Jan 29, 2022
I asked for the Graduate Diploma program. If you want to move on to undergrad, depending on the University, you'll start from year 2 which also depends on the course duration. But I know Mohawk College has agreement with some Universities for this.

Not to mix it up, Colleges here are not Universities.

Landing Gist

Ive come to give back to the thread that gave so much to me.

I pray that God answers the prayers of all PPR hopefuls and fulfill your heart desires.

Long post brace yourself!

Departure: January 26
Airline:KLM

Flight was scheduled for 10:45pm but I got to the airport by 6pm and I'm glad i did, Father Lord it's like a massive crusade was going on at the airport.

I had about 8 eight people with me, man never traveled before grin in the end only my mum and dad could get in and that's because I know someone.

So I was directed to the customs guys first, the people there were already tired, they just asked me if it's my first time travelling and purpose of travel, they opened my bag and just scanned through and said I should 'bless' the guys I dropped '5H' and move.

Next the person i knew led me to a shorter queue and made me understand that the line is for business class, I had economy. She told me not to talk about my ticket and went to work. Almost after she left someone started checking people's tickets and sent like 3 people away from the queue (at this point I was just calculating ehn) finally he came to me and said "what's your class of ticket" and I said "good evening" he asked the question again and for whatever reason I confidently said "KLM" grin then he asked that I show him my ticket i bought out my phone and took my time trying to locate my ticket then he left.

Immediately he left, the person that brought me to the queue came back and i told her so she went and talked to the guy. The next challenge was my baggage i wanted just 1 bag as i don't like carrying load and made the mistake of not weighing it at home (please try to do this it will save you stress) it was weighed as 44kg instead of 23kg so i had to split into 2 at the airport.

I was cleared and my documents were checked and was given my boarding pass then i went to say my final goodbyes to others that couldn't come in then proceeded to board. My backpack was checked then I boarded.

We landed at Amsterdam at 5:55am, and had to wait for 5 hours for the connecting flights. My documents were checked again and I boarded.

We arrived Toronto at 3:45pm local time, went to the self declaration machine and answered some questions the receipt was printed I went to join another queue, the lady there asked for my course duration and if i know someone in Toronto and then made some markings on the receipt then told me to join another line.

I waited for my turn and the man on the counter asked for my documents, he asked why I arrived late (resumption was January 10) and I told him that there's an option to attend classes online and I've been having online classes. He asked for my course duration and said he will give me 3months extra and that im welcome to apply for an extension if need be and then he issued my study permit.

Next i went to get my luggages it was so easy and went for the covid test make sure you register online.
I was done in 15mins and left. All along I was thinking "the cold sef no reach I'm gonna bouce it off" but my people immediately I came out of the airport shocked
My spirit and soul literally left me and ran back into the airport ooo but came back sha and we moved.

Advice: if you are coming in winter get plenty winter wears o, the clothes for Nigeria's weather are useless.

Documents:
POE Letter
Acceptance letter
Confirmation of Enrollment
ArriveCan receipt
Quarantine plan
Travel Authorization letter
Passport ofcourse
COVID card
PCR test result
Tuition fees receipt

I also printed my Statement of account just in case but I didn't use it at all.

Once again thank you to the gurus and everyone on this thread. I wish us all great successes in all our endeavors. Amen.

Hello house, I submitted my application in December but I’m worried about whether my proof of funds is sufficient.

I submitted bond fund investment papers worth around 40m and explained in my letter than the investment can be withdrawn to cash at any time. But I’ve come across several articles that says IRCC does not consider investment papers as proof of funds.

But alongside the investment papers, I submitted three bank statements of my sponsors with a total closing balance of 10m.

Though my tuition for one year is CAD 8,096.. Plus living expenses of 10k, totals about 7million in naira.

My question is even if IRCC doesn’t consider the investment papers, will the 10 million bank statements suffice? And also will the investment papers have adverse effect on my application?

My sponsors are my parents. @makano @anon123

Canada is more interested in how applicant or sponsor accumulated funds than the balance, and evidence of strong relationship between applicant and sponsor. Your birth certificate and pictures is enough evidence of your parents. Did you submit evidence of how you accumulated the funds in bank statement? I yes, they may focus on that only since is it sufficient. The bond investment is very high and will look suspicious if you don't have and submitted evidence of a good source of income.

Run away from that officer. 5k is the common price. I know an applicant that paid 5k in Dec 2021 at alagbon. You can even get it for lower price if you can negotiate well.

I have added a screeshot of the office information from here. You can use like or share under every post here or screenshot to track posts that are important to you. All the best.

Hello everyone!
@makano

I got to know that I won't be able to board plane without enrollment letter from the school. Now have messaged my school to register for classes so I can be given the letter but they said I have to $500dollars for acceptance fee and show them my study permit. My concern now is what should I do because I can only get the Study permit at the Port of Entry?

Note: I have gotten my study permit approved without paying a dime to the school except the processing fees.

Send your IRCC approval letter and your visa page to your school. Explain you can't obtain study permit until port of entry (they know this too).

I have gone through their refund policy and didn't find any write up about a no-refund policy if an applicant is denied a study permit due to misrepresentation or fraud.
One thing I could come up with is that the school doesn't seem to be a good University. Though it is a designated learning institution but not all programs in the university qualifies you for a post study work permit after graduating. The list of program that gets you qualified for PGWP can be seen by clicking on the link below.
Lastly check for reviews about the school online and you will find a lot of negative reviews.
I wish you good luck and I hope you are able to get your refund at the end.
