Good evening, from my research I discovered this two institutions for winter intake.

Thompson Rivers University (Master in Environmental Economics and Management).

Carleton University (Master of Arts: Economics).

With 3.6 CGPA in Economics, is there chances of gaining admission?

N:B- University of Manitoba admission wasn’t successful and according to them, it was because of competition.

Please I’d appreciate your feedback. Thanks

Dear NL family

I intend to apply in April but i have fixed deposit of 3m that I rollover every 180days. It will be rollover again around March. Can I attach the fixed deposit certificate as part of my proof of funds. Already I have above 10m and $10k in account.

Yes attach the fixed deposit document

But the Visa officer will be more concerned of how the money came about... Accumulate and attach documents for funds you can sufficiently prove

I have gone through their refund policy and didn't find any write up about a no-refund policy if an applicant is denied a study permit due to misrepresentation or fraud.
One thing I could come up with is that the school doesn't seem to be a good University. Though it is a designated learning institution but not all programs in the university qualifies you for a post study work permit after graduating. The list of program that gets you qualified for PGWP can be seen by clicking on the link below.
Lastly check for reviews about the school online and you will find a lot of negative reviews.
I wish you good luck and I hope you are able to get your refund at the end.

Nope. After being issued PFL he didn’t meet up with 15days given. Firstly, he didn’t know on time he has been issued the letter and later missed the days due to the documents he was gathering to submit. Now his portal is replacement overdue.

Yes you can attach the certificate of fixed deposit. Get a letter from your bank to confirm the fixed deposit and the amount you have in there. That was what I did and I got my visa

Hello house I need help. I applied to two universities for masters degree in Economics , Manitoba and Calgary. Manitoba application wasn’t successful, waiting on Calgary decision by March. I’d like to know if 3.6 CGPA can secure admission for Masters or just opt for Diploma. Also while waiting for Calgary decision, I need suggestions of schools to apply for September intake. Thanks

Bsc: Economics

CGPA: 3.6

Check out Western University. You can still apply if you have all the necessary things ready ASAP, Fall admission will be closing February 1
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by KikkyQ: 9:53pm On Jan 29, 2022
Pay the acceptance fees. There is a letter that CIC sends to your portal, along with your stamped visa page. That should suffice.

Hello everyone!
@makano

I got to know that I won't be able to board plane without enrollment letter from the school. Now have messaged my school to register for classes so I can be given the letter but they said I have to $500dollars for acceptance fee and show them my study permit. My concern now is what should I do because I can only get the Study permit at the Port of Entry?

Note: I have gotten my study permit approved without paying a dime to the school except the processing fees.

Interesting

If that be the case, then it will be unfair for any of these schools not to refund tuition fees back to the applicant after a refusal or a Ban..

If its true, then that is so absurd..

Peace
NSCC don't give refund for anything. Even if an applicant defers his admission, tuition deposit is still not transferable to the new intake. Applicant needs to pay another tuition deposit for deferment.

Let her first go to the bank she initiated her BVN and link her email to it. Once her BVN is linked to her email, definitely the OTP will start dropping and there she progress with the e- Form A.

Please is it true one must have booked his or her flight before submitting form A and is it returning ticket or one way?

If you're buying PTA from your bank, you must have your passport with affixed visa and your return ticket. The bank can however take a one way ticket if you submit your letter of acceptance or admission from your intended school.

However, it is cheaper buying a return ticket. One way tickets are expensive.

The decision is yours to make depending on your financial capacity. The certificate you get for two-year College programs in Canada is Graduate Diploma but you're guaranteed to get a job though at low level.

My agent is here in Canada and he got me into Mohawk College for one of such programs, you can google the school if you want and see all the programs they offer around computer science and cost as an International student.

Bro how long did it take before you got the admission?

Landing Gist

Ive come to give back to the thread that gave so much to me.

I pray that God answers the prayers of all PPR hopefuls and fulfill your heart desires.

Long post brace yourself!

Departure: January 26
Airline:KLM

Flight was scheduled for 10:45pm but I got to the airport by 6pm and I'm glad i did, Father Lord it's like a massive crusade was going on at the airport.

I had about 8 eight people with me, man never traveled before grin in the end only my mum and dad could get in and that's because I know someone.

So I was directed to the customs guys first, the people there were already tired, they just asked me if it's my first time travelling and purpose of travel, they opened my bag and just scanned through and said I should 'bless' the guys I dropped '5H' and move.

Next the person i knew led me to a shorter queue and made me understand that the line is for business class, I had economy. She told me not to talk about my ticket and went to work. Almost after she left someone started checking people's tickets and sent like 3 people away from the queue (at this point I was just calculating ehn) finally he came to me and said "what's your class of ticket" and I said "good evening" he asked the question again and for whatever reason I confidently said "KLM" grin then he asked that I show him my ticket i bought out my phone and took my time trying to locate my ticket then he left.

Immediately he left, the person that brought me to the queue came back and i told her so she went and talked to the guy. The next challenge was my baggage i wanted just 1 bag as i don't like carrying load and made the mistake of not weighing it at home (please try to do this it will save you stress) it was weighed as 44kg instead of 23kg so i had to split into 2 at the airport.

I was cleared and my documents were checked and was given my boarding pass then i went to say my final goodbyes to others that couldn't come in then proceeded to board. My backpack was checked then I boarded.

We landed at Amsterdam at 5:55am, and had to wait for 5 hours for the connecting flights. My documents were checked again and I boarded.

We arrived Toronto at 3:45pm local time, went to the self declaration machine and answered some questions the receipt was printed I went to join another queue, the lady there asked for my course duration and if i know someone in Toronto and then made some markings on the receipt then told me to join another line.

I waited for my turn and the man on the counter asked for my documents, he asked why I arrived late (resumption was January 10) and I told him that there's an option to attend classes online and I've been having online classes. He asked for my course duration and said he will give me 3months extra and that im welcome to apply for an extension if need be and then he issued my study permit.

Next i went to get my luggages it was so easy and went for the covid test make sure you register online.
I was done in 15mins and left. All along I was thinking "the cold sef no reach I'm gonna bouce it off" but my people immediately I came out of the airport shocked
My spirit and soul literally left me and ran back into the airport ooo but came back sha and we moved.

Advice: if you are coming in winter get plenty winter wears o, the clothes for Nigeria's weather are useless.

Documents:
POE Letter
Acceptance letter
Confirmation of Enrollment
ArriveCan receipt
Quarantine plan
Travel Authorization letter
Passport ofcourse
COVID card
PCR test result
Tuition fees receipt

I also printed my Statement of account just in case but I didn't use it at all.

Once again thank you to the gurus and everyone on this thread. I wish us all great successes in all our endeavors. Amen.

What was your reply when they asked you if knew somebody in Toronto?

Good morning everyone,
Please, i want to know if applying to a 2yr program at a college that costs CAD 15,000 p/yr is better than a 4yr program at a university that costs CAD 11,000 p/yr.
I want to study computer science at a UG level and i'm looking for a way to reduce expenses. thanks.
i need all opinion.

Most diploma graduates gets job quickly, but an undergraduate degree is better in the long run. You may be able to transfer your diploma result to an undergraduate program. To reduce expenses and quickly get a job, a diploma might be best option in the short term. You can go back for degree after you have some experience, save money, and probably become a PR.

PR application is best for someone around 24 to 35 as the person could attain the highest score. That you studied any type of course and have any type of degree does not guarantee PR. Diploma has no chance at all as its course is low.

Search google for CRS calculator and do an eligibility test. You will understand better

I don't know where you got this wrong information from. Getting PR from TRV while inside Canada has little or nothing to do with age.

My advice to you as i have adviced the other person is to go and do your eligibility test. I don't know who is feeding you with wrong information. I have been on this since 2016 and Age is a very huge factor wherever you are. Do your own research.
