Added the advantage of insigne and Mertens imminent departures, the mantle of scoring goals automatically fall on him. If na goal, any type, leg, head, shot, 1 on 1 I trust osihmen.

I might also add the fact that, generally, African strikers tend to blow in Europe than any other departments. Nobody will ignore a 23-25 year old Tall, clinical, powerful and fast goal scorer. Etoo, drogba are legends.

About koulibaly, well I don’t know why the guy no comot for there since, maybe age factor, who gonna pay 100 mill for a 29 year old black man from Senegal, but the guy better pass maguire 80 million….

I hope osihmen cross over to the EPL in a season or two ASAP, he can comfortably cut it at west ham, Everton, Aston villa etc even at this erratic form, not to talk of top form. Kindly check Osihmen’s form and movement pre injury.

Eguavon was taken to the cleaners too easily by the Tunisian team. It was glaring that the wings were not working.

But then like you said, he barely had time to prepare for the AFCON and there honestly has not been enough games to assess him with.

The problem is that if he continues and qualifies us for the world cup, it would be a risk because we don't have enough info on his technical capability based on the few games. We only know that he can set the team up to play adventorous football.

To be honest I would rather we draft in Peseiro after Egu qualifies us. At least Peseiro is a proven coach with some pedigree. That way we would be reducing the risk of having an unassessed coach lead us to the world cup.

Eguavoen changed his tactics against Tunisia to be defensive, instead of sticking to his strong method which is attacking football and pressing football... He showed Tunisia too much respect maybe due to the fact that in 2004 he lost to Tunisia and then Okoye's error messed his defensive plan up...

Nigeria does not need a coach who changes tactics due to the opposition they are playing or what happened in the past between S.E coach and the opposition team.

All the great sides utilize wing play. It's normal in football. It's not as if the 94 team invented it. Counter attacking football has bested the best of teams and managers. Without the red card and lack of quality upfront we would have won. Now Oshimen and Dennis will be back why hire a man selling groceries in Portugal for the past 2 years when you have a man that understands the game.

We lost that game because Tunisia resorted to capitalizing on only where they saw a gap. Our defenders were on task but they were not playing compact. So the coach instructed to shoot wherever there is a gap. Unfortunately we had a keeper not tested enough to be ready for that surprise. The Tunisian's were LUCKY because as soon as they switched to that tactics, it payed off immediately. We were a goal down before we could respond to a switch in their play. On the hand what Eguavoen had in the store for them would have worked but for the unfortunate incident of Iwobi. Overall, I would say that we missed our most lethal strikers. Osimhen would have proved a great threat from the middle considering his work rate. It would have been hard for any team to handle his threat as well as what Simon brings from the wings. What SE needs now is dynamism. If we can bring that to full force we are good to go even to the WC. Like I said before I like Eguavoen's pressing phylosophy, bring on Amuneke to give you the needed mix. You must also study your opponent and not rely solely on your pattern of play.

You clearly missed the point. You are talking about goals but there is more to a striker than goals. Starboytwo is clearly talking of playing style and you are talking of goals.

He feels Osimhen offers more in play than Jonathan David after watching both players.

I never though I would ever say this, but the smartest decision Arsenal can make right now is to sign Paul Onuachu, for a multitude of reasons.

1) Has every quality Vlahovic they were chasing for so long has, just less sleek. He has the height and strength, the hold up play, the link up with midfield, decent pace, excellent finishing. Only difference is Vlahovic carries the ball a bit better and is more fluid in his movement.

2) Cheap. Arsenal will get him for 25m max.

3) Temporary solution. It will be almost impossible to sign any big name striker in January (Vlahovic was a special case, he wanted to leave). Auba and Nketiah are out, Laca is struggling with fitness. Arsenal need a striker now, else their season is as good as done. Isak, David, Osimhen and co. can't leave their clubs fighting for UCL in January. Solution: Sign a cheap but proven goalscorer who is still not too old and can deputize when the real big boy comes in.

Remember, Osimhen didn't finish his season at Lille because of COVID. Lille played only 28 games out of 38. That was his first and only season. He scored 13 goals with 5 assists in 27 games, finishing as the 4th highest goalscorer in the entire league.

David has been at Lille for two seasons. His first season was when Lille won Ligue 1. David had the same 13 goals, but with 3 assists and across 37 games. That's 10 more games to get similar stats. In fact, Lille's highest goalscorer Yilmaz had only 16 goals in the entire season. Technically, Victor performed better in 3/4th of a season in his first season at Lille than David did in his full first season. That's pure stats, not even going to off the ball stuff like pressures, aerial duels won, hold up play etc.

Even in playing style, Jonathan David is a renound team player, he fights for the team. He has about 5 assits this season and he is ambidextrous. The only 2 footed player I have seen since Santi Carzola. So what playing style are you really talking about?
