This is not new.

Under President Goodluck Jonathan, a sum of N334bn was earmarked for wheat production to make Nigeria self sufficient in wheat production in eleven states of the Federation situated in the Northern part of the country.

The money went into the pockets of these same people and nothing was heard about the programme again.

That money was part of what was used to campaign against the Presidents second term.

Today, the same people are complaining about President Buhari.

It is very obvious that CBN has laundered huge billions of Naira through NIRSAL's programs but the insinuation that rice of such amount can't be produced in Nigeria is a huge political joke made by Hanga who lost relevance in ruling party and decamped to opposition party trying to get cheap political relevance in his new home.

I have no doubt, that pyramid is nothing at all compared to the many rice millings ware houses along Kano-Jigawa, Hadejia road. I know a single ware house that has more than 500k bags of paddy rice. Jigawa produce more rice than Kano apart from Kebbi, Kaduna, Niger, Yobe and other large scale rice producing states.

Honestly, some useless, unpatriotic Nigerians are still dumb for overlooking our capacity.

This pyramid is nothing compared to our rice production capacity.

Many people invested huge money in rice farming since the banning of its importation to Nigeria by PMB and it will be difficult for rice to be cheap immediately until the investors recoup their investments in machineries, manpower, equipments, land et cetra.

If that is the case the right thing first is to invest in rice production (maybe a collaboration between investors and federal government) before banning importation of rice. The paddy rice pyramid would have come few years back to reassure us they have everything under control. I think the pyramid stuff is way too late it wont solve any problem

I said it. CBN is surreptitiously trying to show off the success of their anchor borrowers program that is why they did this pyramid. So much money has been looted, I'm talking abt hundred billions in the name of farmers.
