You can continue with your denial but everything is a matter of time. If we survive an uncivil war, nothing we can't survive Igbos will be victorious, just as Isreal is victorious aribisala0: |

flokii:How could Ironsi have executed the coup plotters? Are we forgetting that the coup was staged against civilian rule and not military rule? Where we see the military rushing to conduct military tribunals and execute coup plotters is when the coup is against a military regime. May be if Ironsi had put the coup plotters before a military tribunal earlier, it might have helped in the short term, but not the long term Ths Igbos can continue deceiving gullible people including willing Yorubas but they can't deceive the North. Ab0kis no get time for story. You killed their Sarduana, killed Tafawa Balewa and every leader of thought in North but somehow the premier of the then Eastern region Michael Okpara, an Igbo and other Igbo politicians all escaped the brutal killings. And yet if Igbos want to go their way as Biafra, the same Nigerians will want to fight war. The same people who say that Igbos killed their leaders 55 years ago still want "one Nigeria" with Igbos, why? They want Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB finished even more than boko haram, ISWAP and the bandits killing them up North, why? The same Nnamdi Kanu only wants him and his people to go their way, but those who are still in pains that their leaders were killed 55 years ago still want to be with Igbos in "one Nigeria" I will never understand this one |

T9ksy:He thinks because Ojukwu decided to play a lottery with Eboe lives we should also join in the suicidal folly as a mark of "bravery" . This is part of the generational myths they inherited. Many of these young people talk without contextual understanding The mind of Yoruba in 1966 was that these are the same Eboes who left us 6 years ago to form government with Balewa, sent Awolowo to Prison , killed Akintola and Fajuyi whilst sparing Azikiwe and Okpara. That was the context. Those killings happened in January 1966 and in July the North retaliated and released Awolowo. These were the same Eboes whom Akintola was lamenting about in the widely circulating video on YouTube, used Azikiwe's position to dominate scholarships and a lot more. Why then would the Yorubas see them as allies ? So even if such opportunity did exist The Yoruba did not have the same grievance as the Eboe and had good reason to mistrust them |

DMerciful:Why shouldn't you be victorious ? As long as it does not hinder or harm me ? That is your business |

It was not an Igbo coup. The military felt they needed to intervene and take over but sadly they made a mess of things |

Ojiofor:God bless you bro. Let's say the truth as it is. Seek reconciliation where possible and move on from there. Blames, counter-blames and LIES will not help anybody. I grew up thimking Nzeogwu was a hero, because I was naive and stupid. I had an Igbo friend who hated the very mention of Nzeogwu since we were teenagers. He called him insane and blood thirsty. I am older now and having a rounded knowledge of what happened, I know the 1st coup was a terrible mistake. Those young, naive, power-drunk men changed the course of this country's history. |

HBB1:Amen and bless you too.We must say the truth at all times or else our youths will be misled by charlatans as the case maybe today. I was also idolizing Nzeogwu and co until I come of age and realised the damage they did to ndi Igbo and Nigeria in general. Imagine what Eastern region led by Dr Michael Okpara would have done with oil wealth in the 1970s. Imagine how developed Eastern region would have been today if that coup and civil war didn't happen. Why should I support group of rascals whose reckless actions set the young nation Nigeria and ndi Igbo backward for many decades. |

DMerciful:You can lose all the people you like It is not for you to tell us what to do or how to go about it. That is very disrespectful on your part If you need to defecate do so which one is come make we go shit? I really need to push back on this idiocy Why should we leave BECAUSE you think we should? Did we come into Nigeria together You went and organized a coup for your own benefit it did not work out and then the Northerners did their own at which point you decide "We no do again" . That is your choice How is that the business of Yoruba .Why should we secede because you decide to do so when you decide? We do not owe you any explanation We were absolutely right to support Nigeria is supporting the crushing of Biafra and would do so again . Hear that clearly All this emotional manipulation will not work Whether we stay or leave Nigeria is not your business and we are not engaging you in any competition for who hates Nigeria most |
