Firstbank encourages fraud I believe.

My account was similarly wiped a few days ago. Took almost 200k.

When you report, firstbank won't bother.

The phone number they use in cloning firstbanks WhatsApp number is still running as we speak.

The number is 0912 490 2399. Over a week that I reported to the bank.

Crazy!!!
explain wiped. ATM withdrawal? Or POS?

This allegations of bank workers being involved in robbing people whether by having access to the ATM, or actually informing robbers to waylay a victim with money is very valid.

I remember three years back my card was seized by a machine and i went home while planning to return in a few days to claim it.

About three days letter over the weekend i got a call from someone claiming to be a bank official, and asking me some important questions that would have helped them enter my account.
I immediately realised that the bank personnel that took out my card from the machine were trying to rob me.

Even when someone stalked my in my car straight to my house when i drove off after withdrawing some tangible amount of a machine last year, i seriously suspect it was the people at the security post that informed him via phone that i withdrew a substantial amount of money.
All trapped cards are to be destroyed. Anybody could have been in the bank looking for those withdrawing large amounts

I saw this news yesterday

I think her ATM was swapped

Maybe she needed the assistance of someone at that ATM machine...then the person swapped the ATM card...inserted the swapped one and entered the pin....so the machine swallowed the card

Whereas the real ATM card is still with the person....after that the person walked to the nearest pos and withdrew all the money

Because you can't use ATM machine to withdrew more than 150,000
My fellow nairalander, your information is not accurate, some banks atm like sterling can withdraw more than that amount on daily transaction. Before i can withdraw #400000 at atm post but now it has been reduced to #250000..

I wanted to comment that the card was definitely swapped before I saw Slawomiir's comment. She either asked someone to help her or she got distracted by a criminal after he had successfully spied her pin. He distracted her, entered an already blocked ATM card previously used for the same scam and now blocked, and ran to a very far POS stand.

People should be wary of people standing and breathing behind their backs, especially those tall giraffe-necked guys. They should also desist from asking for help; not everyone has the fear of God in him/her.

Avoid banks that are prone to fraud, banks like Access, uba, first, gtb, eco, zenith and the rest. Go and open you a union bank. Buhari's share in that bank is making it one of the best and still standing banks in Nigeria.
Are you aware that Union Bank is about to be acquired by one new (incorporated in 2019) small bank like that?

Yeah. Doesn't mean that they are prone to fraud.

When the bad guys catch you, don't run your mouth and tell them that you use fingerprint. You'll see what they do to your hand. You better always say you have no bank card.

No na..... It's absolutely not important when you know they are fraudsters.
Most times i just drop the call, or i get off the call and make their credit waste. I'm not into exchanging insults with them like some people do because i don't want to waste my energy on them.
So in this case i just told them to wait when they asked me to get my card reg. number for them, i put it on speaker and just listened to them say Hello, hello, hello until they were tired and ended the call.

If Union bank is currently safe, it's probably because Dem never reason due maybe to its not being popular...

My rule remains unchanged below:

Never leave your savings in a spending acct!!! Credit your spending ATM card with just the dough you need at any given time.

Money is mostly stolen by these fools when they gain access to the ATM card, pin, or number.

So, the only ATM card that one should carry around should be the one for an account where you don't keep your main funds. You simply transfer as little as needed for daily spending.

Personally, I have no ATM cards for my emergency and salary accounts. This is quite pertinent for online transactions requiring card details.
