So long as they're not putting rail lines along that corridor, they're about to transfer Apapa gridlock to Lekki. As if it's not Nigeria again. Tueeeeh.

When will the Lekki Port Railway be ready

Will the Goods for the North be sent to the Kaduna dry port straight away by Rail

Will the Goods owners be Automatically Charged the Rail Transport fee when Clearing the Goods from the dry port in Kaduna and the East

What of the ones for the SS and SE

So let's deal with the usual arguments.

1) Why Lekki? Why not Niger Delta? Well, why not both Lekki and Niger Delta? The Lekki Port has been on the drawing board for decades and it was proposed by the Lagos State Government, but it is not the only proposed deep sea port. There's also the new Bonny Deep Sea Port https://punchng.com/construction-of-462m-bonny-deep-seaport-takes-off-this-year-npa/ and the new Ibom Deep Sea Port http://www.idsp.ak.gov.ng/

So why not Lekki?

2) There's only one road into Lekki and it will lead to problems for people living in Ajah, Lekki Phase 1, etc.

Firstly, you need to know that the port is being built in Ibeju Lekki, which is far away from Lekki Phase 1, Ajah, etc.

Secondly, you also need to know that there isn't only one way to the port. There is the Epe-Ijebu Expressway, which easily provides a link to the hinterland (through Ogun State) from the port. The Ondo State Government is also working on the Araromi-Ibeju Lekki Expressway, which will provide a link from Ibeju Lekki to Ondo State.

3) Rail lines: There are two rail lines that are meant to service that area: (a) The Green Line of the Lagos Metro system, which will run from Marina to the proposed Lekki Airport and Seaport. Provision has been made on the Eleko Road for the rail line to run on the median. There's also going to be a link from the Lagos-Calabar national line to the Lekki Port.

4) Dedicated truck lane: The road will also have a dedicated lane for trucks (just as you have your BRT lane), so that they won't cause congestion on the axis.

It's so pathetic to the extent that the officials are all untrustworthy and we need to change them regularly.

Lekki port's completion is just one of the solutions that can never be final.

Why can't we think of fully developed sea ports in other states like Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Rivers and Cross River. Must all port businesses be done in Lagos alone? Even other non-coastal states can also be involved.

... Shhhssh! Seek knowledge and u shall find; There's a proposed road from VI (By the Atlantic ocean) That leads to dangote refinery and straight to the "Imminent" road ( Link up Bridge still in the secondary stage) to Ondo state been constructed by the Ondo state government which leads to the south and of course the east, so before putting mouth on we islanders matter please Strive to do your homework pretty well. Lagos indigines aren't known for stupidity.

Lagos built it's port by itself with foreign partners and you expect it to carry it to Portharcourt. For what exactly?

Dash Rivers it's brain and resources?

Stop stupid pretence we lagosians know ourselves and tell your visionless leaders to come and learn the rudiments of development at the feet of the grandmaster Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, it is not by thuggery or cultism of your lousy Governor

CHEC injected US$221 million into LPLEL in March 2020 and became the company’s controlling shareholder with 52.5%. The remain shareholders are the Tolaram Group (22.5%), the Lagos State Government (20%) and the Nigerian Ports Authority (5%).

LPLEL was awarded the concession for 45 years by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. Under the agreement, the company is required to develop, finance, build, operate and, at the end of the concession term, transfer the port to the NPA.

All major infrastructure components are over 50% complete including land side infrastructure (55.38%), the quay wall (74.13%), the breakwater (74.13%) and the dredging and reclamation works (82.19%). Upon completion, Lekki Port will have a total of 3 container berths, 1 dry bulk berth and 3 liquid berths.

If na to dey abuse online, he knows how to.
But to read and make research is a problem.

Dangote ko, Dantata ni

So he got Dangote wrong but he got it right that Lagos government is not building the port with its 20% ownership
