Not actually. Traditionally a woman is buried in her father’s compound. It was Christianity hat changed it.
In those day, not too long ago ozu nnwa ada was “carried” in a mat at night across and handed over to her people. I witnessed a couple of such.
But when Christianity came, they started burying women in their husbands place. However, their husband would still have to return the “Njija” (the little basket used to store food stuff) which is symbolic for the return of the body to her people. This is the tradition.
