you should note that the most Nigerians went to this Asian countries for legit work opportunity but was graced with racial segregation, with the shame of coming back home empty handed delve into yahoo, I'm not justifying fruad, I strongly detest it. But the truth has to be said, there are many kind of racism but employment base racism is the worst, and that is what most Asian countries practice. A native European or American with one year experience will be employed before an African with 7 years experience in most Asian countries which is not so in America and most European countries.

In UK, some students are already getting work sponsorship, in America with the green card your life is secured. In these countries you can dream to attain any position if you work hard. Why then will majority do yahoo?. No it is not because the give visa to the good ones, but because it is easier to earn legit than to do Yahoo.

Bro be like you no dey this planet oooo. All the arrest American is doing is what? Those ones na Hotmail dem dey do? Or Gmail?

Oga dem go do yahoo anywhere.. Those them that manage to escape Nigeria to Europe and America are they not doing yahoo and drugs? Instead of focusing.. Those yahoo ones will do it no matter where they find themselves.. Even if na heaven

When the foreign countries hear about the bad things going on in nigeria.....yahoo boys, internet fraud, scammers everywhere, kidnapping, criminal activities, money rituals so all this has created a bad image to Nigeria as a country to the whole world...so they will be careful of giving a Nigerian visa. So that is why it will be hard for Nigerians to get it

Firstly, our foreign missions have failed in their duties hence the need for such stringent measures. Our immigration agency has become a den for voracious unscrupulous men and women who hold no value for the country Nigeria.

Nigerians are smart and gifted, and the few with good heads that contribute to foreign societies are always well respected and rewarded.

The problem is that we don’t have a strong data base for information sharing with foreign agencies. The United States has pointed this out. In several developed countries with as simple as your Social security number or residence permit number all financial, educational and criminal information can be pulled up, and they all will be authentic I must add.

In Nigeria, with a simple affidavit a person’s name changes with no link to the former in some cases, criminal records can be wiped or not recorded, financial records cooked, birth, death and educational certificates questionable.
Worse off our soft-gloves approach to cases of fraud with international interest.

I strongly empathize with honest Nigerians that all they have is good intentions to be upstanding citizens of Nigeria in a distant land but no thanks to our government.

Poorer citizens of developed countries move freely between nations due to the power and authenticity of data base. The home country does its part to flag some persons as menace to society hence the individual cannot be provided travel documents (unless gotten fraudulently) or granted visa. That way miscreants are not given the opportunity to soil the countries image.

I urge everyone to vote right. We need a leader accountable to only Nigerians, not party, not friends, not sponsors. We need a man of prestige and pedigree.

If not for those strict and supposedly harsh requirements, Nigeria would have been empty long ago. More than 90% of those applying for visa don't plan on coming back

Any countries that truly care about the welfare of it country will not grant Nigeria easy access to their country. It is what SA is suffering today doing brother's keeper n allowing all sort of riffraff into their country.

Nobody told them before they buckle up.

Well said! I cannot count how many times foreign Ambassadors have pointed out how corruption in our government is making it harder for Nigerians to get visa. Most countries use the Corruption perceptions index to set visa requirements. Nigerians should remember this next time they go to vote. Don't go and collect bag of rice and vote for a useless plonker and then start crying later about economic hardship and why it's difficult to obtain a visa.

I don't see this as corruption because anyone who has gone to any foreign embassy will know that getting visa is no joke and

These agents makes it easier though more expensive. finding a way out of any problem is a gift all Nigerians possess.

It is very disgusting to read that Visa that is suppose to be free has become a.big business venture in Nigeria. If our currency were to equate the USD, with stable electricity and good roads who will overstay their visa duration? May God help Nigeria.

If they don’t want Africans in their country, they should just say so..the discrimination is too much...

For student visa...other countries in Europe, Australia, and the like are not asked for anything like proof of funds....

Proof of funds for a while year...it’s ridiculous.... as if those other Europeans students don’t come and work when they get to the UK to pay for their upkeep and even tuition

As if that’s not enough..they even angry we borrow the money to keep in our accounts for 28days.... let them just say they don’t want Africans

You're comparing yourself - a citizen of the world's poverty capital - to a German or Italian?

You lots are comedians.

Visa fraud dey happen across all Africa countries. The economic condition here in Africa makes an average African wanna move abroad for better life. If things are rosy in your country what u go travel to another country go do? Make our leaders fix the mess they’ve created and youths will no longer be queuing at various western embassies for visa.

It's not ridiculous, it's the effect of being a citizen of a poor country. You cannot be accorded privileges given to a Singaporean as a Nigerian, it's not possible. Also, you're a student and you are expected to return after studies (which most Singaporeans, Japanese and South Koreans do) but citizens from poorer countries aim to settle in developed countries, so these nations put up parameters to ensure those students have the wherewithal to survive. It's simple economics.

I accord easier access to Dangote as a visitor to my home because I know he won't be a nuisance and will likely return to his house afterwards but I'll not offer same privileges to someone who stays at Ajegunle.

As a citizen of a poor country - which I'm too - you cannot enjoy similar privileges citizens of rich countries enjoy. If you want to enjoy such privileges, Nigeria should become a rich country too. If Nigeria becomes as developed using HDIndices as the UAE or Malaysia or at best South Korea, we will enjoy visa privileges to rich countries.

It sounds unfair but life itself isn't fair.

If you are talking about emptying the country Nigeria what will u say about china and india...

They tend to give them better treatment than the blacks.. i mean issuing visa.. they go to U.S thousands and hundreds

In the U.S... Chinese and Indians are more in number even in millions than Africans.. i mean those from African Countries..

Its so funny that in d 1930s... the Europeans or the present day whites... Their grand parents migrated to the U.S. without visas and without papers. Free entry from ships ooo as in millions.... just strolling in......

Hmmmmmmm.... Life! !

It is really ridiculousthe length people will go to. We are very impatient and want to do things the easy way. How do you pay 1.7million for a one month schengen visa? Visa that costs less than 50k! Schengen visa is one of the easiestto get. All i did was get their checklist. Once i had it, i gatheredmy documents and submitted with TLS. After about 3 weeks , i got the 3 months Visa. Anyway when people have more money than sense , this is what happens!
