Hello everyone,

Please I need help on how to get my money back from ukvi. I applied for studentvisa Nov and got my visa, now in the UK. During IHS payment I was charged $987, my son was charged 1640.49 and my husband 1640.49 for same length of stay.....

I believe they were over charged, I have sent mails and paid calls and they keep telling me to wait for 6 weeks. Its 2 months now

Please advice me on how I can get my money back

Hello. The same thing happened to us and they refunded. It takes a while but they will pay you don’t worry. Send an email to complaints@homeoffice.gov.uk with your complaint.

List the applicant’s name. DOB. Passport number. UKVI payment reference number and GWF number.

If it doesn’t work come and tell me and I’ll give you the final bus stop but this folks usually sort it. When the alert hits your account pls bring my tithe tongue

Thanks for the tips. The cheapest insurance based on quotes from confused.com requires blackbox, are there any other disadvantage to this other than the fact that ones movement is monitored?

None that I know of. I never went near telematics insurance so I can't say.

Naughty list no be small - her next cost centre go be immigration lawyers to dot every i and cross every t as UKVI might scrutinise all her subsequent applications going forward with a fine toothcomb.

Do you want your movements monitored, when you use your brakes unreasonably, accelerate like a rat on steroids, brake speed limits etc etc

Your insurance company sees it all. ......... I hate been monitored, by insurance companies........

Good day all
Abeg no vex for my question but I try to do research before I come here and ask

Trying to get NIN for my 5 year old for passport renewal. Still waiting for their Aberdeen office to call us to come do it.
Can I go ahead with the online application and pay without the NIN?
But wait for the NIN before going to London for biometrics

I have written a cover letter, providing my consent -does it have to be a joint letter? or I can write one, the father writes his own too?
Will the letter be enough?

Of course you won't get any online or standard exchange rate in the real world.
Each time you withdraw, the banks include conversion charges.
Best to pull out the money in larger chunks or spend it on major expenses at a go such as the newly increased energy bill, for instance.

Thanks. I'll use your advice.
