Based on the experience of a friend, after the chat with the GE, the events listed below might follow:

- You will receive an email that tells you the status of your application. Please note that at this stage, depending on the recommendation of the GE, you could either be recommended for hire, KiV (Keep in View), or rejected.

- To know if you are recommended for hire, the success mail will include information about you being contacted for documentation soon. If you are KiV, the tone would be slightly different. There won’t be a mention of documentation, but you might be informed that you are in consideration for employment, and will be contacted when there is an available space for you (this means you are in the talent pool and might not get called until the department your job role falls under needs you). While the rejection mail will tell you…

- If it is the first success mail, you might likely receive an invite for documentation and medical, which may be followed by another probable chat with the CTO to know when you would like to resume.

- If it is the KiV mail, you might be lucky enough to be called for the same process in item 3 above if there is still a space to be filled after those recommended for hire have been asked to resume (post-documentation). Do not forget that some of the existing employees might also resign during this period, so there might be a need to fill the roles they will be leaving vacant, so, you can’t entirely lose hope if you fall in this category.

While the process may be long, you need to also understand that every single company out there have talent pool(s), whether national or multi-national. Not every single candidate would make it to an advertised job role.

If you have 100 open roles and 150 candidates scale through the process, what will you do?

Did those who did CTO chat (and not called for GE chat) and are not successful received a rejection email or no email for them? Or how will the people know they are not successful?

I think for experience jobs :

1. Presentation/Interview
2. chat with CIO, CTO, ...................
3. Chat with executive
4.Doc/Mecdicals
5.Appointment


But some companies are not like this.

Got an offer from other companies and I'm not sure if I should reject them and then wait for First bank to get back to us.

Start working in your new company.
If First bank gives you offer greater than the one you currently accepted... Tell First bank to give you one month to round up at your current place of work

Honestly. After meeting CIO, with salary asking , no response either proceed to next level or not qualified.

I am not sure I’m in a position to speak on this. However, if you will consider similar cases - don’t forget how most Nigeria companies run their recruitment campaigns too, it’s better for the candidate to move on.
