I was like you. I didn’t want to sell. If you pack, it depreciates. Then when we finally gave someone to drive, they bashed it to a stupor :'. Sell and keep the money.

Thank you, sis. Someone will be using it. To start in a new country is not easy oh. Phew. God help everyone.

Thank you

You’ll need to have the NIN to apply for passport online. How come you’re waiting to be called for NIN? Over here in North West i just picked an available date on the website, made payment and went in for my son’s registration, NIN was sent to my mail the next day.
Please what is the NIN website

The electricity bill is too high if you live alone.. you need to manage it before April 2022 comes when it will further increase..

do you live alone? family?

that 24hr heater hmmmmmmmmm

I live with my wife but we only use one room together, never put on the parlour heating as we hardly go to the parlour because of cold.
No water heating as well. Only fridge and electric cooker then laptop.
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Viruses: 7:37pm On Feb 04, 2022
Please can I get an idea of monthly electricity bill.
Heating in one room always on (regulates itself though), fridge always on (regulates itself as well), electric cooker, microwave oven, electric jug, laptop and phone. No TV even.
Mine is £170. Scared of what it will become post increment.

That is high, reduce your heating and cover up with some winter clothing, I don't know how cold your house is but you need to do something else that figure will go up

I’m assuming this is a one bed apartment and if so, your monthly bill is quite high even for an all electric house. What kind of heaters do you have? Are they storage heaters?

I think you mentioned earlier that your heater is electric and not gas, that might be the problem. There’s this platform where people with electric heaters were moaning about their energy bills due to the heaters. Some even advised it’s best to avoid such houses like plague.

Hi everyone, my employer needed my bank details for my payroll but i was having a delay in opening account with natwest bank so I rushed and opened Monzo online bank. My question is, Monzo bank is it a good bank for banking as someone was telling me that the banking options in Monzo are limited and there is usually in it, please I don’t know how true this is.
I just recently migrated so I don’t this things very well

It's so good you will even get your salary earlier than your colleagues.

If its just you two on electric heating and you're paying 170 quid a month, you need to get yourself some thick sweaters and duvets fast (think teddy fleece), then you need to do something about moving to a dual-fuel house. Do the usual DIY draught-proofing where you can, by stuffing old clothes under the doors and around the windows, change your curtains where you can for the heavier type, etc., but ultimately start to plan to move.

When I lived in Aberdeen, I was on full electric heating with the old storage heaters (the so-called OAP heaters, because they're only good if you are at home during the day, you can't stop the heat being given off, you can only turn it down to the lowest setting, so while they charge overnight at a lower tariff, when you come back from school/work in the evening, they've given off all their heat) and I think then electricity prices where about 3 times gas prices per unit. At current prices, I can only imagine what people on electric heating are/will be paying now.

Lol, by a day, true. Why's that so? I've asked our payroll chaps why BACS transfers go through faster to the challenger banks, no concrete explanation yet.

Yes we can put up YouTube videos but we should avoid putting up false information (especially about Uk). The other day this same lady video was posted here and she was saying dependants needs to come to the uk 6 months before applying for PSW which is not true and she was saying it in confidence.

This claim I actually found out recently to be true, from a friend’s experience. While there’s no clear home office rule stating this, there’s a technicality in immigration visas that makes it an issue.

In simple terms…If you apply for a dependent visa less than 6 months to the expiration of the main visa, you may not be issued a dependent visa… you may be issued a normal visiting visa. [I’m using “may” here because nothing is absolute, but generally BRPs are never issued for less than 6-months stay in the UK].

So, while the visit visa serves your purpose to be with your spouse for the rest of his/her studies, it’s not a standard dependent visa, and will certainly give problems when you want to use it for PSV application. Make everybody shine their eyes.

Your response is addressing a different issue. The question, I believe, was with respect to someone who already has the visa but not in the UK.

Storage heater in the palour, barely used. Normal heater in the room, turns off when the room is quite warm. Can't wait for winter to be over.

I use Monzo as salary, no issue but I want to change to Lloyds because I'll need credit card sooner than later, that I can get from Lloyds when they see my account activities.

I will try the stuffing things, I'm sure it will conserve heat too.

Mamatukas and all the Scotland people. Please is it true that in Scotland, you provide all your white good yourself? My agent is telling me that Scotland houses don't offer white goods.

Please help me because I want to give a correct response

That is incorrect. Most that I have had dealings with have existing white goods. The term unfurnished refers to no bed, no sofa, no table.

Just thinking out loud... It will surely pass MOT. It's a brand new Rav 4 2018 model.

I am sure getting this same may cost me like £45000 if not more for brand new. Just needed to be sure.

No problem. Won't sell though. angry

If you look hard enough, a slightly high mileage example........ £15,000........... grin
